Tom Holland’s younger brother, Harry, will reprise his Cherry role in Spider-Man 3. The two films, both of which are led by the older Holland, couldn’t be more different. Cherry is a character-focused drama about a young man struggling with addiction. Spider-Man 3, on the other hand, is the tentpole third installment in the popular superhero franchise directed by Jon Watts.

There are several questions about the cast of Spider-Man 3. Audiences are eager to know how Benedict Cumberbatch’s Doctor Strange factors into the story. There are even more pertinent queries regarding the returns of Jamie Foxx and Alfred Molina. And yet, above all else, fans continue to speculate about the rumored involvement of past Spider-Man stars Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield. Holland has been careful not to reveal much in recent press appearances. But there is one co-star in Spider-Man that he’s very happy to talk about.

SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY

As part of an interview on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, Holland was asked to elaborate on what role Harry would play in Spider-Man 3. The actor revealed that his brother had actually filmed a cameo for Cherry as an ecstasy-dealing criminal and that, based on this performance, an idea was born. You can read Holland’s quote below:

Yes, in Cherry, he has a small cameo. He plays a character called the Shaky Kid and he’s a drug dealer. So… we kind of had this idea that, in every film I would be in, Harry would reprise his role as the Shaky Kid. So he is back again in his own sort of weird MCU Cinematic Universe as the the ecstasy-dealing Shaky Kid.

Harry is an actor in his own right, having appeared in the biographical drama Diana as a young Prince Harry. He’s also starred in a number of shorts, in addition to writing and directing those projects. Still, it has to be pretty cool to join his older sibling in a huge blockbuster like Spider-Man 3 and a buzzy drama like Cherry. Reflecting on the experience, the elder Holland referred Harry’s participation in Spider-Man 3 as a career highlight. Considering the demands of working on such a significant Marvel project, with long hours and occasionally physically challenging scenes, it can help to have a family member along for the journey. Holland readily revealed this in his interview with Holland, admitting that he may have pulled a few pranks on Holland in the process of filming.

If it all works out, and if Holland continues to portray Peter Parker after Spider-Man 3, he could have his very villain. One of the complains among some fans about how the MCU has depicted Peter is that all of his antagonists have been more focused on Iron Man thus far. But perhaps in future sequels, The Shaky Kid will grow powerful enough to extract his own revenge on the Friendly Neighborhood Web-Crawler. Failing that, it will still be cool to see Harry’s cameos ultimately compares in a distinctly different kind of movie like Cherry.
