UPDATE: 12/30 Epic Games has now confirmed Tomb Raider Survivor Trilogy will be free via the Epic Games Store from today until January 6, 2022. Original story as follows.

A new leak reveals that the final game to be given away on the Epic Games Store – as a part of Epic’s month-long holiday gaming celebration – could be none other than Square Enix’s Tomb Raider: Definitive Survivor Trilogy on December 30. Epic Games’ shop was introduced a few years ago and has garnered a substantial userbase, mostly due to building up a positive reputation for providing high-profile games for free. The different giveaways made on the Epic Games Store has shown to be one of its most profitable components, and substantial titles like Grand Theft Auto V were given away for free in the past, and this trend continues in 2021.

SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY

Developed by Crystal Dynamics and published by Square Enix, the Tomb Raider reboot and prequel trilogy brings Lara Croft into the modern gaming scene with stunning visuals and fast-paced gameplay that blend into its narrative. Maintaining their core mechanics, each title provides something unique or never-before-seen in the series; and takes the famous explorer’s story back to its origins to show her transformation into the tough, dual pistol-wielding protagonist hunting down artifacts and battled mythological a variety of enemies. Each critically acclaimed Tomb Raider prequel – Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition, Rise of the Tomb Raider: 20 Year Celebration, and Shadow of the Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition is included in Tomb Raider: Definitive Survivor Trilogy, with the addition of all DLCs and previous upgrades.

Posted on Reddit, user Born-Ad2043 shared a screenshot of what appears to be a leak of the remaining games left to be given away during Epic’s month-long holiday gaming celebration. The recently posted (and blurry) screenshot claims the free games rolling out on the 28 and 29 of December are Moving Out and Salt and Sanctuary, followed by the massive Tomb Raider: Definitive Survivor Trilogy, indicated to be free for all players on the last day of the giveaway celebration: December 30. While unconfirmed by Epic Games itself, it appears that this leak is authentic, as the post was created yesterday before the announcement of Moving Out earlier today.

Each title in the Tomb Raider: Definitive Survivor Trilogy was previously given away for free on multiple platforms. In the decade after the first title’s release, PlayStation has included Tomb Raider, Rise of the Tomb Raider, and Shadow of the Tomb Raider in its PS Plus subscription service for players, in addition to the inclusion of each title on Xbox’s Game Pass. Most recently, Amazon gave away Rise of the Tomb Raider, allowing Prime Members to pick it up for free – so the possibility of another giveaway is more than likely.

The possibility of the Tomb Raider: Definitive Survivor Trilogy free giveaway could be a big deal for players. With the ongoing Steam Winter Sale, each title in the trilogy needs to be purchased separately and the Definitive Survivor Trilogy is currently only exclusive to consoles. Due to this, not only will players be able to save money, but some will also get to experience the trilogy for the very first time, all thanks to Epic Games.

Tomb Raider: Definitive Survivor Trilogy is available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
