Two And A Half Men is one of Chuck Lorre’s most popular and funniest sitcoms. With the show focusing mainly on Alan Harper (Jon Cryer), Jake Harper (Angus T. Jones), Charlie Harper (Charlie Sheen), and Walden Schmidt (Ashton Kutcher), the other characters in the show are mostly seen from their perspective. On that note, Judith (Marin Hinkle) is one of these characters.

From being Alan’s ex-wife to being disliked by Charlie, Judith is exactly not the most favored character in the series. While sometimes there is a reason for the dislike, sometimes it is not mentioned. Whatever may be the case, these 10 things about Judith would not fly today.

10 She Kicked Alan Out

In the very first episode of the series, Alan goes to Charlie’s house to say that Judith kicked him out. It is not only one of the most pivotal scenes in the show, but it is also the part where we get our first opinion about Judith before seeing her.

Given that it is Alan’s house as much as it is hers, kicking him out in the night comes off as selfish. Other than the fact that Alan is sort of gullible, such a thing is not likely to happen in reality.

9 She Wanted Alan To Find A New Place

As a chiropractor, Alan always talked about how he was not making enough money in his clinic. Adding to this, he also had to pay alimony and child support. It was pretty clear that he had financial problems, thus he resorted to living with Charlie.

However, Judith did not want her son Jake to be exposed to Charlie’s lifestyle, which is very understandable. With this being the case, Judith simply asking Alan to buy a new place without pitching in would not be taken lightly these days.

8 She Messed With Alan’s Relationship With Kandi

With Judith and Alan being divorced, Alan later married Kandi (April Bowlby). However, Judith crossed personal boundaries when she got involved in Kandi’s relationship with Alan. When Alan and Kandi decide to get divorced, Judith stepped in to offer Kandi her home and her lawyer.

Given that Judith did not like Kandi being around Jake, the whole set up is redundant. Besides, with the show not giving us a reason for Judith’s non-empathy towards Alan, Judith’s actions feel exaggerated.

7 She Expected Alan To Do Household Chores

After Judith and Alan divorced, Alan moved into Charlie’s house. With Judith living in their old house, it clearly became her responsibility to do the chores in that house. However, Judith ends up asking Alan to fix the garden sprinkler and the garbage disposal.

If Judith is really not open to a relationship with Alan, she should not have misled him into thinking they have a chance. Besides, it made it look like Judith was using Alan for her own purpose.

6 She Hated Alan For No Reason

Judith was the stereotypical ex-wife who is hated. While the series gives us an idea of why Alan doesn’t like Judith, the audience is never told why Judith detests Alan so much, She clearly has no empathy for him and she didn’t care about putting him in any difficult situation.

For instance, she decided to refer Kandi to her divorce lawyer after Kandi decided to split from Alan. The fact that Judith could have been doing all this for her own enjoyment would never fly today.

5 She Left Home After Fight With Herb

Judith’s marriage with Herb was not a great one either. When Alan leaves Walden’s house after an argument, he goes to meet Herb. There, Dr. Herb Melnick (Ryan Stiles) tells him that Judith left him after they had a fight.

This is contradictory with the time that Judith kicked Alan out instead of leaving and the reasons for both of these situations are unknown. The series never gave viewers any information about Judith having a job, so it makes it hard to believe she would leave her home after a fight.

4 Jake’s Expenses

By now, all fans know that Alan paid Judith alimony and child support for Jake. However, it was never clear what was covered under this money.

While Judith expecting Alan to pay for Jake’s summer school is partially understandable, the fact that she expected Alan to pay for the expensive shoes she bought for Jake can only be seen as Judith taking advantage of Alan. Moreover, given Alan’s financial situation, Judith was being very unreasonable and unsympathetic.

3 She Didn’t Work

Over the 12 seasons of the series, there is never any mention of Judith having a job and we never see her going to one either. This created the impression that Judith depended completely on Alan’s alimony for her expenses after their divorce or until she married Herb.

Given that Alan definitely did not earn much at his clinic, it is hard to believe that she depended on him alone. Alan’s earnings would not be sufficient for a household today and Judith having no profession is just not believable to today’s viewers.

2 Everyone Joked About Her Sexual Dilemma

Following Judith’s divorce with Alan, Judith reveals that she is interested in women. There is surely nothing wrong with this – it is her personal preference and it didn’t concern Alan, especially after they have separated.

However, both Charlie and Alan mock her for it and even her parents are against her for it. Nowadays with social media, where people can easily voice their opinions, portraying Judith in a bad light regarding her sexual dilemma would certainly be criticized.

1 Everyone Made Fun Of Her Anxiety

Among the things we know about Judith, the fact that she has anxiety issues is one of them. She even goes to a therapist, who she also recommends to Jake. With Judith having her own confusion and difficulties in her life, her anxiety issue is taken very lightly in the series.

Adding to this, she is called out for it. Anxiety is not a topic for humor. Therefore, the other characters mocking her about her anxiety issues would definitely not fly today.
