Two and a Half Men: 10 Things That Make No Sense About Rose

As one of the main antagonists of the popular comedy Two And A Half Men, Rose is the longest-running character in the show, After our two protagonists. Rose comes across as crazy, yet she is also one of the few sensible people throughout when she’s not snooping or obsessing over Charlie.

Out of all of Charlie’s girlfriends, Rose is a favorite to many, including Evelyn and even Jake is genuinely fond of her. She stayed true to her character for most of the series, but that doesn’t mean she was always understood. Let’s look at some of the things that don’t make sense about Rose.

11 Rose’s Obsession With Charlie

Rose got madly obsessed with Charlie after they had a one night stand, long before the show’s storyline starts off.

The first episode of the show features her calling him in the middle of the night and threatening him into calling her back. And then in a couple of minutes, Rose is again shown on his sundeck bidding her Monkeyman goodnight. Given that she was a licensed psychotherapist, her educational degrees somehow don’t line up with her choices of living.

10 Her Dress Sense

Rose wears some of the most questionable outfits on the show. Her dresses are mostly child-like, red, pink, or baby blue, completely out of place for an adult.

Rose is filthy rich, her father a billionaire and yet, her dresses or fashion sense don’t say so. Even when she knows Charlie’s taste in women, she doesn’t upgrade her wardrobe as if she doesn’t try to look more irresistible or appealing to him.

9 What’s The Deal With The Stairs?

Rose never uses the stairs to come to Charlie’s beach house! She climbs up from the ground to the deck. When she leaves, she just jumps down from above the deck! What’s up with the stairs? Why doesn’t she use them? If she can’t enter from the main door due to the restraining order, or the secret nature of her work, she can use the stairs leading up directly to the deck.

The stairs to the deck have never been locked! In fact, on Charlie’s insistence, she once used those stairs to walk up! But, she is back again to her usual self, after that.

8 What Does She Do For A Living?

Given that Rose has a lot of screentime in the series, the showrunners never show her working or on the job. She always seems to be spying or slacking off.

How does she put food on the table? A wealthy father is a great asset, but, if someone is a licensed practitioner, then they ought to practice sometime!

7 Episode 12

In the 12th episode of the 5th season, Charlie falls sick after sleeping with a woman down with flu. No one is ready to take care of him and exactly at that moment, Rose appears. She starts playing his nurse. She constantly gives him some pills so he stays drowsy.

Charlie figures out her scheme soon and confronts Rose about it. Rose gets offended and wants to leave and surprisingly, Alan asks her to reconsider! Later it is revealed that Rose had Lulu on, but the question remains how she was able to get Alan on her side.

6 Why Did She Build That Hate Website?

In the second season, 11th episode, Charlie finds out that someone has built a derogatory website charlieharpersu***dotcom, with his picture on the web page. Later, it is revealed that Rose did that.

Why really though? If anything, it only gave Charlie a chance to reconnect with all his old girlfriends! It’s really difficult to gauge whether Rose loves Charlie or hates him, or probably loves to hate him!

5 How Is That Possible?

Charlie was so frustrated with her spying and snooping on him that he had the police put a restraining order on her. And yet, she managed to come inside his Malibu house, without Charlie even alerting the authorities!

She keeps breaking in, only to see what’s going on inside! It has been shown several times that when one is on the deck, they can not hear what the insiders are talking about, but, she seems to do with that quite fine.

4 Charlie’s Behavior Towards Rose Is As Weird!

Charlie knows Rose is crazy and dangerous. When he is seen talking about her for the first time in the very first episode, he tells Alan that Rose glues her kitchen cabinets whenever she comes in! Rose had even glued Charlie’s testicles once, to his thighs!

When you know someone is crazy and is stalking you, you would try to be as far away from them as possible, or, maintain at least an arm’s distance with them. And yet, Charlie just keeps on ignoring her antics and even includes her in his social and private life.

3 Who Did Rose Cremate?

In the 9th season, episode 5, Rose shares the awful news and the details as to how Charlie died. According to her, he fell on the tracks in front of an oncoming train, and his body exploded like a balloon full of meat.

Then, she cremated his body and brought the ashes from Paris to the service. But, at the end of the series, Rose revealed Charlie had never died and that she had cremated a goat. If he was not dead, then, who gave him food in the basement while Rose was clingy stalking Walden? And if she indeed cremated a goat, why doesn’t Charlie Harper ever show up again?

2 Why Did She Date Walden Or Alan?

Rose Dating Alan can be understood, as she admittedly did it to chastise Charlie. But, why did she date Walden?

From her own confessions, Charlie was alive the whole time and she was so head over heels for him, yet she tried to get close to Walden and even dated him briefly. In fact, the whole series stops making sense towards the end.

1 Rose’s Speech

At Charlie’s funeral, Rose tells the mourners that she found him taking a shower with another woman right after they were married. She goes on to tell them that the very next day, Charlie died after he was hit by a moving train.

Everyone seems to suspect that his death might have not been an accident. In fact, Berta even exclaims loudly that one should never cross a crazy woman. And yet, no one cares to file a report or involve the police.
