Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End has many puzzles, each with its unique twists, and the Clock Tower is a unique puzzle to solve. The puzzle gets help from some Zodiac symbols that also come up here and there in Uncharted 4. The Clock Tower puzzle also has some speed climbing, and with some nimble grappling, Nathan will genuinely see some uncharted territory.

Symbols are not uncommon in Uncharted 4, where different puzzles use various symbols throughout the game. In addition, there is a mix of religious signs, Zodiac symbols, and even created symbols from historical pirates. The pirates in question are taken from real-life pirates Henry Every (AKA: Henry Avery) and Thomas Tew in the 17th century. They were both English pirates with varying degrees of success, leading to the story of Uncharted 4.

SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY

With the popularity of the Uncharted series, a new movie has come out with Tom Holland playing the part of Nathan Drake and Mark Wahlberg as Sully. Another revelation from Naughty Dog is the release of the Legacy of Thieves collection that includes not only Uncharted 4 but also has Uncharted: The Lost Legacy as a part of the Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection. For those not aware of Uncharted: The Lost Legacy, it’s the first game of the series where players are controlling characters other than Nathan Drake.

How To Find The Clock Tower Puzzle in Uncharted 4

Upon entering the clock tower in Chapter 11 of Uncharted 4, there’s a pedestal on the ground level with which Nathan can interact. At this point, Nathan will put a coin in the middle of the pedestal, releasing four statues. Each statue represents a Zodiac symbol that will show up on the floor around the pedestal. After the short scene, open Nathan’s journal, which shows numbers next to Zodiac symbols describing the bells’ order to get rung above in the Clock Tower to continue the story.

How To Reach The Zodiac Bells in Uncharted 4

The first order of business is to climb up the tower and reach the Scorpio Bell. Use the grapple button when prompted, and climb up the broken staircase. Continue up to the platform, jump to the next section, then face the two large clock weights. Jump for the weight, hold on while it drops, and then get around to the platform behind it. The next part needs a bit of speed where once Nathan holds on to the next weight, the weight Nathan is on will drop while the other will rise. While the weight lowers, jump to the weight that is rising. When it’s high enough to reach the platform, jump to the left and catch it. It will be a bit of a race to the higher level using the stairs, or the platform will crumble under Nathan’s feet. Nathan will then see some gears rotating and must climb them going up and to the right.

How To Ring All Four Zodiac Bells In Uncharted 4

After going through the gears, and the one that needs a timely jump to get through, get up on the platform to see the Leo Bell. Trade off ringing the Leo Zodiac Bell for now and continue, but remember its position. Climb up the gears behind the bell, go up and left to the platform where the Scorpio Bell is, and ring the bell using the nearby crank. To get to the Aquarius Bell, a set of gears rotate down from the Scorpio Bell platform that Nathan can use. Move to the lower platform and ring the Aquarius Bell. The Leo Bell is next in line, and to get there from Aquarius, Nathan has to make a jump through one of the holes in the gear to another clock weight. The weight will bring Nathan down, but shift to a white ledge on the left, wait for the weight to move back up, then quickly go to the new ledge with a platform and climb up and Ring the Leo Bell. The Taurus Bell uses the same route to Aquarius, but Nathan must jump on the swinging bell instead, visible from the Leo platform. Grapple around the swinging bell and jump on the opposite platform to ring the Taurus Bell. After ringing it, head up the new staircase next to it after the cut scene.

How To Ring The Main Clock Tower Bell In Uncharted 4

After climbing the new stairs, the linear path leads Nathan up a wall where he’ll jump on a switch that stops the large clock gear behind it. Quickly climb up the gear and jump to the platform on the left at the top. Before going outside, climb up the gear next to the window, and a clock hand outside will move. Put the clock hand to the 3 o’clock position, then climb out and use the clock hands as a path to move to the other side of the tower. Move fast across the clock hand as it will fall if Nathan stays on it too long. Keep going around the building until the final window and move upwards to an eventual opening in the wall. Keep going around to an entrance into the tower and an interaction button for the large bell. The handle breaks and Nathan will have to go to the left. Jump on the bar and swing back and forth to ring the bell, initiating one of the best action sequences in the Uncharted series. From here, everything goes crazy, and some speed jumps from one ledge to the other will keep Nathan from plunging to certain doom. A few key jumps are the slide down the gear to jump to the round weight, and when the gear is quickly doing down, don’t stop jumping up the gear, and it will stop eventually. Head down to the floor using the grapple, when prompted, to finish the chapter and complete the Clock Tower puzzle.

Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End is available now on PlayStation 4 and will be available as a part of the Legacy of Thieves Collection on PC and PS5 on January 28th, 2022.
