Unexpected: What Happened To Shayden Massey After Season 1 Of TLC Show

Shayden Massey and Lexus Scheller’s relationship on Unexpected was tumultuous, to say the least. The duo was part of the original cast of the show. While they did return for season two, they ultimately ended their participation in the reality series. Shayden claimed the money they were receiving per episode was not enough to justify a return. However, it’s also possible that airing their dirty laundry on TV was too much for the young couple. But even though the cameras stopped filming, drama continued to follow Shayden.

Throughout season one, Shayden and Lexus fought constantly. Their arguments grew worse after their baby was born, when they started having sex again despite Lexus not being on birth control. Lexus worried about falling pregnant again, which caused tension between the couple. There was also a lot of tension between Shayden and Lexus’s mom, who didn’t like her daughter’s boyfriend. Lexus’s mother thought Shayden was just another bad boy. Her theory was somewhat justified considering when Lexus was just 13, she ran away with Shayden, prompting a police search party to look for her. Lexus’s mom told her to stop seeing Shayden, but she did not listen.

Unfortunately, Shayden proved Lexus’s mom right. After season two ended, Shayden went to jail for driving a car with no license (via TV Shows Ace). Though his stint was short – only two weeks by his estimation – it was enough to ruin his relationship with Lexus. After returning to the world, Shayden posted on his Instagram announcing he and Lexus broke up. He also accused her of cheating on him with his best friend while he was in jail. Shayden is no stranger to the legal system, as he has had many run-ins with the law. He was arrested for driving with a suspended license, possession of marijuana, and operating a vehicle with expired plates.

However, despite his messy breakup with Lexus and continued issues with the law, Shayden seems happy. He still gets plenty of time with his daughter, Scarlett, suggesting he and Lexus are co-parenting well. In other areas, however, Shayden’s life is still messy. He moved on after the Lexus breakup and started dating a woman named Meah. In October 2020, Shayden welcomed his second child – a baby girl named Everleigh. However, Meah wasn’t the mom of his second baby. While it doesn’t seem like Shayden is in a relationship with the mother of his child, he’s still an active presence in his new baby’s life. Shayden also recently suffered the loss of his grandmother. He asked fans to donate on GoFundMe to help pay for her memorial service. Beyond that, Shayden’s Instagram is full of selfies and pictures of his two daughters. Shayden seems like a devoted father to his two little girls and appears to be happy. Although he and Lexus may not have worked out, they have found a way to co-parent successfully. Their time on Unexpected may have had its ups and downs, but at least they found balance in the end.
