Characters’ birthdays in Genshin Impacthave become fun ways to celebrate a given character’s special day while engaging with other fans in the community, and there are five coming in March. For every character birthday comes an explosion of fans posting their original fan art, cosplays, and more online for characters they feel a connection to. With the release of new characters in the past year, there are even more character birthdays to mark on players’ calendars for the upcoming month of March.

Since the release of the popular role-playing game Genshin Impact by Chinese game developer HoYoverse (formerly known as miHoYo) in 2020, the game has exploded in popularity online. Although the game features an immersive storyline and an expansive open-world, the gacha mechanics remain an integral part. New Genshin Impact character releases are frequent and hyped up with character trailers, exclusive limited banners, and character story quests to encourage players to roll for them. Once released, characters have accompanying profiles that provide character details, highlighting key information about their backstories – including their canonical birthday.

On each character’s birthday, players can expect to receive in-game mail from the character with a message and a unique gift specific to that character. The gift usually includes the character’s Special Dish food item and a batch of level-up materials for that character. After the player collects the rewards, the birthday mail is moved to a special section of the mailbox called the “Gift Mail Box” where the mail is safe from auto-deletion. Since last March, two new characters have been announced that feature birthdays in the same month. The first character, Shenhe, is a 5-star Cryo polearm character released in January of this year. The second character, Genshim Impact‘s Kamisato Ayato, is a recently-announced 5-star Hydro sword user set to be released in the upcoming 2.6 update.

Genshin Impact March Birthdays Include Qiqi, Shenhe, And More

As things currently stand, there are five Genshin Impact characters who have birthdays in March. Players will be able to celebrate each of these birthdays and receive special gifts. All of the characters with March birthdays are as follows:

  • Qiqi – March 3rd
  • Shenhe – March 10th
  • Jean – March 14th
  • Noelle – March 24th
  • Ayato – March 26th

For Shenhe’s birthday, although this will be the first time celebrating it, players can expect to receive Heartstring Noodles, her Special Dish, alongside a message and relevant level-up materials. For Ayato, players can expect to receive the usual birthday message and materials, along with Sakura Tempura, his Special Dish. It must be noted that Ayato’s birthday and Special Dish item is based on beta leaks and is subject to change once the character has officially been put into the game. Unfortunately, as the 2.6 update for Genshin Impact is not expected to be released until March 30, 2022, fans may have to wait almost a full year before receiving Ayato’s birthday mail, provided the date is correct. As for the other characters, based on past repeat birthdays, players can expect the same Special Dish for the character alongside a new selection for the level-up material and a new birthday message.

The celebration of characters’ birthdays has become a staple for fan culture surrounding the game, providing an opportunity for fans to share fan art and express dedication to Genshin Impact characters they have grown to love through the game and its story. As more and more characters are added to the game, the list of birthdays to look out for will continue to grow. That being said, fans should anticipate these upcoming dates and even consider getting creative if it’s a character they are passionate about.
