Upload Season 2 Cast & Character Guide

The cast for Upload season 2 sees the returns of stars Robbie Amell and Andy Allo along with several supporting actors but also introduces some new names. Less than two years after debuting on Amazon, the dystopian comedy Upload returns for its second season with the same mixture of humor and suspense that made the show one of the most distinctive options on the streaming platform. Continuing the themes of the first season, Upload season 2 follows Nathan Brown’s search for the truth about the circumstances of his death.

The bittersweet ending of Upload season 1 had left many loose ends for season 2 to work with. After having to be downgraded to the 2-Gig plan for running out of money just as he was starting to find out more about his death, Nathan had to ignore Nora’s love confession and deal with Ingrid’s arrival at Lakeview. That’s the starting point for Upload season 2.

The main Upload season 2 cast may not be huge, but the limited number of main characters does the trick of making viewers care for each one of them. In a show where death doesn’t mean all that much, most of the cast from season 1 was granted the opportunity to return for the second season of Greg Daniel’s comedy. Here is the cast for Upload season 2, including returning actors and new characters.

Robbie Amell as Nathan Brown

Robbie Amell returns as Nathan Brown, the programmer whose mysterious death and subsequent upload in Lakeville hid a deep conspiracy surrounding access to the digital afterlife for the poorest. After a journey of self-discovery that culminated in Nathan falling in love with his angel Nora, the character now has to deal with Ingrid’s upload and the fallout of the investigation on his death. Although Robbie Amell started his career at a very young age appearing in films like Cheaper By The Dozen 2, he is best known for playing Firestorm in the Arrowverse and Fred in Scooby-Doo! The Mystery Begins and Scooby-Doo! Curse of the Lake Monster. Amell is often seen in comedies like Picture This and D.U.F.F, and most recently played Chris Redfield in the new Resident Evil movie released in 2021, Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City.

Andy Allo as Nora

Andy Allo also returns for Upload season 2 as Nora, Nathan’s assigned angel who eventually falls in love with the upload. After confessing her feelings to Nathan only to hear nothing back, Nora ends the first season of Upload on the run thanks to her investigation going too far. Andy Allo is an actress and singer who previously worked in Prince’s backing band. Her first major role was Serenity in Pitch Perfect 3. Allo has recently played Lieutenant Wendy Seager in Chicago Fire and will star opposite Legends of Tomorrow‘s Dominic Purcell and action star Bruce Willis in the upcoming movie Soul Assassin.

Allegra Edwards as Ingrid Kannerman

After supposedly dying and being uploaded to Lakeview at the end of season 1, Nathan’s former ex-girlfriend Ingrid is back for Upload season 2. Ingrid and Nathan had broken up at the end of season 1, but the former’s apparent sacrifice has made things much more complicated for the dysfunctional couple. Now that Horizon offers the uploads the possibility of becoming parents, Ingrid is sure that a child can solve all of her and Nathan’s problems. As with everything regarding Ingrid, however, nothing is that simple. Ingrid is played by Allegra Edwards, who recently starred alongside Ahsoka Tano actress Rosario Dawson in the TV show Briarpatch.

Kevin Bigley as Luke

Nathan’s best friend Luke is also back for Upload season 2. After suffering for months without the company of his only friend in Lakeview, Luke finally reunites with Nathan at the beginning of season 2. Luke continues to be one of Upload‘s funniest characters, and his banters with Aleesha once again make for hilarious scenes. Luke is played by Kevin Bigley, best known for his voice acting roles in shows such as American Dad and BoJack Horseman.

Zainab Johnson as Aleesha

Nora’s coworker also returns for Upload season 2. Despite her long list of clients’ complaints, mostly from Luke, Aleesha continues to be one of Horizon’s most efficient employees. Aleesha is played by Zainab Johnson, who is best known for her stand-up comedy background.

Owen Daniels as A.I. Guy

The multipurpose assistant who stole the show in Upload season 1 is back for season 2 as he continues to help the residents of Lakeview and learn more about humans. The A.I Guy is also given a new role inside Lakeview as the face of Horizon’s artificial babies and continues to deliver hilarious moments. The character is played by Owen Daniels, who is best known for his role as recruit Obie Hanrahan in Space Force.

William B. Davis as David Choak

Nathan’s billionaire neighbor continues to be an important part of Upload throughout season 2. Greed and strange eating habits remain important parts of the character’s personality, but his wealth could serve Nathan’s plans. David Choak is played by William B. Davis, who is best known for his role as X-Files‘ Cigarette-Smoking Man.

Josh Banday as Ivan Spelich

One of Lakeview’s angels, Ivan Spelich is played by Josh Banday. Just like every employee at Horizon, Ivan will have to deal with a new, very demanding customer. Banday has appeared in comedies such as The Big Bang Theory and more recently can be seen in Murderville and Pam and Tommy.

Upload Season 2 New Characters

Paulo Constanzo as Matteo

One of the main additions to the cast of Upload season 2, Paulo Constanzo plays the charming community leader Matteo. The character is part of an anti-tech community that opposes companies like Horizon and is also Nora’s new love interest. Constanzo is best known for his role as Lyor Boone in the Kiefer Sutherland show Designated Survivor.

Mackenzie Cardwell as Tinsley

Horizon has a new temp worker named Tinsley. The character has filled the vacancy left by Nora and is learning from Aleesha how to take care of uploads. Tinsley is played by Mackenzie Cardwell, who had previously appeared in Words and Pictures and Little Fish.

Upload Season 2 Supporting Characters & Cameos

Andrea Rosenas Lucy: Nora’s boss is played by Andrea Rosen, best known for playing Eileen Jaffee in Matt LeBlanc’s Episodes.

Jessica Tuck as Viv: Nathan’s mom. Tuck has appeared in many TV shows and movies, including J.J Abrams’ Super 8.

Hiro Kanagawa as Detective Sato: The detective investigating Nora and Nathan. He has appeared in shows like Star Trek: Discovery and iZombie.

Vic Michaelis as Mildred: Ingrid’s uploaded grandmother. She replaces Hilary Jardine in the role and has done mostly independent movies.

Chris Williams as Dave Anthony: Nora’s dad. Williams has appeared in shows like Curb Your Enthusiasm and Silicon Valley.

Chloe Coleman as Nevaeh: Nathan’s niece. Coleman has played Skye Carlson in Big Little Lies and starred opposite Dave Bautista in My Spy.

Ryan Beil as Craig Munthers: Horizon’s tech division manager. Beil has appeared mostly in comedy shows.

Jennifer Garner as Herself:13 Going on 30′s and Elektra‘s actress Jennifer Garner plays herself in Uploadseason 2 during a quick cameo in which she is the voice of a police station A.I.
