What’s scarier than a 10-star troll in Valheim? The answer is a 100-star troll, as players discovered over the weekend. A recent mod for the Vikings-inspired sandbox survival game has allowed users to modify enemies for greater difficulty, leading players to create ginormous beasts such as the terrifying 100-star troll found in the Black Forest. One lucky (or unlucky?) streamer came across the beast during his travels and captured its insane size on camera.

For those who are unfamiliar, Valheim‘s troll enemies are powerful monsters that can be found roaming the Black Forest. Standard trolls have one, two, or three-star difficulty levels, all of which already deliver heavy attacks to players. A 3-star troll is bigger than a Valheim character, to begin with, but not too much bigger. Thanks to a new mod, Valheim players have taken trolls to new heights (literally) by adjusting the beasts to massive 10-star trolls. With each additional star, the troll grows in size, so one can imagine that a 10-star troll is huge enough. Streamer Gladd managed to find one of these beasts on Saturday and shared footage on Twitter.

SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY

Apparently, Gladd can’t catch a break. That same day, he came across an even bigger enemy – a 100-star troll. The video on Twitter showed Gladd’s character running from the giant, which was so big that it was hard to see in a single frame. The tall creature towered well above the trees and could probably send a 10-star troll across the map with a single flick. Gladd’s character came relatively close to the 100-star troll and narrowly avoided getting stepped on as the beast turned around.

Imagine trying to defeat that thing. Even with the most powerful mod, it seems it would be impossible to tame a Valheim troll of that size. These impressive fan-made enemies are probably better off admiring from a distance – although it’s not like one needs to get too close to see them, anyway. The massive enemies may be terrifying to encounter, but they deserve to be admired.

Valheim is still in Early Access, so the game isn’t quite complete yet. Many players have already zoomed through the available content and are eagerly awaiting a new content update. Thankfully, the open-world sandbox environment has left plenty of room for fans to stay entertained with mods. From modifying enemies to turning players into huge titans, there’s endless room for creativity in Valheim. If players can have this much fun with mods, the finished game is bound to be all the more exciting.
