Valorant’s Night Market returned for the first time in 2022 on February 9, offering players some of the game’s best deals and discounts on select skins for a limited time. The current Night Market is expected to end on February 21. Coinciding with Valorant’s in-game Lunar New Year celebration, the Night Market is a pop-up shop that offers each player a unique, randomized selection of six different gun skins, like those from previous Valorant battle passes, at a discounted price. The Night Market gives players the chance to obtain some of Valorant’s most sought-after weapon skins for a fraction of their original price.

Valorant’s Night Market’s system is inspired by another Riot Games game, League of Legends. The Your Shop store in League of Legends offers players champion skins at a discounted price. Like Valorant, there are six skins available and the selection of skins is unique to each player. However, unlike Valorant, League of Legends’ Your Shop is not entirely randomized but instead based on the player’s match history for the past six months, prioritizing skins for the player’s most-played champions. A player’s Valorant Night Market is believed to be entirely randomized.

Like the Night Market’s skins, the discount off of the original price of the weapon skin is randomized. Valorant developer Riot Games hasn’t confirmed the maximum available discount, but several screenshots and videos online show top discounts offering 40-50% off the original price of the skin, with discounts around 40% being relatively common. Some Valorant players on Reddit claim to have seen skins discounted by 70% in their Night Market, but there don’t appear to be any screenshots or videos to corroborate this. It appears that the Night Market’s maximum Valorant weapon skin discount is 50%, but Riot is yet to confirm this. Overall, Valorant Night Market discounts in the 45-50% range are considered a great deal, especially for the game’s expensive or sought-after skins.

Valorant Night Market Offers Discounted Skins To Players

Aside from offering fans the opportunity to pick up some weapon skins at a discount, the Valorant Night Market makes skins more accessible, as a single weapon skin can set players back $50. One Valorant player, xqmpl, posted in the Valorant subreddit to remind other players how expensive the game’s skins are compared to the average income in countries other than the United States. In the comments, Valorant players from different countries compare the cost of a single weapon skin in Valorant to how many meals that amount of money could buy in their country. The post is a jarring reminder of how expensive Valorant cosmetics are, as well as the widespread problem of microtransactions in video games.

Valorant fans should log in before February 21 to check which random skins are discounted in their Night Market before the limited-time pop-up shop ends. In 2021, the Night Market popped up roughly once every two months, so the next Night Market after the current one will likely arrive in April 2022. If Valorant fans are eager to buy a particular skin in the game at a discount, they may have to wait a few months before getting the one they want in their Night Market due to its random nature. Unfortunately, Valorant‘s most expensive skins, like the dragon-themed Ultra rarity Elderflame weapon skins, are excluded from the Night Market. Regardless, Valorantfans can enjoy discounts of up to 50% off the game’s most popular weapon skins in its limited-time Night Market store.
