For weeks Katie Maloney and Tom Schwartz of Vanderpump Rules have been fueling rumors that they have split; now, the couple are confirming they are living apart. The duo had a rough season which showed Katie doubting Tom’s devotion. It seems love just wasn’t enough to keep them happy in Valley Village.

As VPR fans are aware, Katie has been fueling rumors of a break with her husband, especially when she was spotted out with Stassi Schroeder not wearing her wedding ring. The Bravo couple had a relationship before they starred on the Lisa Vanderpump spinoff, which began in 2013. Fans were able to see the couple go through some ups and downs, including the drink-throwing incident in Mexico. In 2015, with the help of Lisa, Tom proposed to his long-time girlfriend. Katie and Tom married in 2016. On their one-year anniversary, fans learned that Tom had forgotten to get the marriage certificate signed. Fans could tell that Tom was better at dropping the ball than being a reliable husband.

Last season on Vanderpump Rules, Katie and Tom seemed to be on a strong path that included looking into having children together. The Sun is reporting that after 12 years together, Katie and Tom are no more. A source close to the couple shared that Katie was fed up with feeling like Tom didn’t “step-up” in defense of her. The couple has been said to be “flip-flopping” but have made the decision to spend some time apart to rethink if they should continue to stay married. According to the insider, Katie is doing her own thing.

The Sun source shared, “They flip-flop. They’re still cordial and see each other and go to the same events because of their mutual friend group, but they just focus on themselves.” Neither Katie nor Tom have filed for divorce, but the topic has reportedly been discussed. The VPR insider revealed that Katie feels the fault is on Tom. Katie is said to be tired of giving her husband multiple chances to better himself, noting he just didn’t “step up to the challenge.” She is reportedly focusing on her own happiness and placing her marriage on the back burner.

As recently as Thursday, Katie was spotted out to dinner at The Beverly Hills Hotel while drinking a very dirty martini. It is hard to dive into the minds of the Vanderpump Rules stars, but most fans believe Katie hasn’t been happy in her marriage to Tom for a while and would like to be granted a divorce. Only time will tell if Katie removed the ring for a storyline for the upcoming season or if the break is for real.
