The second Vanderpump Rules baby is on its way! After the Bravo series went on extended (and possibly permanent) hiatus, a number of current and former cast members all announced pregnancies around the same time. Some even admitted to starting a pregnancy pact. And now, a few months after Stassi Schroeder welcomed daughter Hartford, Lala Kent is in labor.

The news comes days after Lala revealed she would be delivering her baby girl early due to some medical issues. This is her first child with fiance Randall “Rand” Emmett. The film producer and director has two older daughters with ex-wife Ambyr Childers. The couple has been engaged since 2019, but COVID-19 led them to postpone their wedding. Lala announced her pregnancy on her 30th birthday and discovered she was expecting a girl with a gender reveal party attended by some co-stars.

SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY

The news was announced by Rand on Instagram. The 49-year-old shared a picture of his fiancee in a hospital bed, attached to some IVs. He captioned the photo “And so it begins….”. Famous friends like Kate Bosworth and Dancing With The Stars alum Jesse Metcalfe commented their congratulations. Fellow VPR alum Katie Maloney-Schwartz, who went from Lala’s rival to an extremely close friend, said “So excited! Sending positive vibrations!!!” while her husband Tom wrote “Sending all the love.” Fired castmates Stassi Schroeder, Kristen Doute, and Brittany Cartwright also left ecstatic comments. Despite some drama between her and Lala, the also-expecting Scheana Shay wrote “Sending so much love and prayers to you both!!!” Hours after the first picture, Randall posted a photo of her hospital bracelet-clad arm captioned “Still going strong” to his Instagram stories.

Longtime viewers remember when Lala was first introduced as a trouble-making hostess. When she began seeing Randall, other cast members gossiped about her involvement with a married man. She only referred to him as “my man” before his identity was revealed in season 6. Many judged her as a gold digger and scoffed that the relationship would never last. The couple proved naysayers wrong, and Rand even appeared on the show in season 8. Fans have loved seeing Lala’s evolution from party girl to settled down mom, as well as her journey to sobriety. But that is also a reason why some think the series should end- or be significantly retooled.

The Vanderpump Rules that followed young, partying friends no longer fits when multiple cast members are married and raising children. While some insist the show’s coming back, nothing is definite. Even if Lala doesn’t return to reality TV screens anytime soon, fans will surely be following her motherhood journey on her popular social media pages, as well as her podcast with Rand.
