The Vanderpump Rules stars Tom Sandoval and Jax Taylor were BFFs who were sometimes frenemies, but since Jax’s exit from the show, their relationship has changed. Jax and Tom have had a rocky friendship over the years. In Vanderpump Rules season 2, Jax admitted to sleeping with Kristen Doute, who was Tom’s girlfriend at the time. VPR‘s Tom eventually forgave Jax, but the two always fought for the “number one guy” spot in their friend group.

Their friendship took another hit when Jax demoted Tom from best man to a groomsman for his wedding. At the time, it came out that Jax’s fiancee and Vanderpump Rules costar Brittany Taylor’s pastor, who was to be their officiant, had anti-gay sentiments. The couple eventually fired the pastor, but Tom questioned Jax as to why it took them so long to make that decision. The accusation started a huge fight between them, but they eventually made up, and Jax invited Tom to be his best man again. Since then, Jax has publicly stated that he wished he didn’t have Tom at his wedding. In fact, he said that he felt bullied into it, and Tom was hurt by that.

In the Vanderpump Rules season 9 reunion, Andy Cohen asked Tom where his friendship with Jax stood. Tom stated that they’re at different points in their lives, but will be friendly when they bump into each other. However, Ariana jumped in and claimed that Jax didn’t come to Katie Maloney’s Christmas party because he knew that Tom would be there. Andy suggested that Jax “hates” Tom, and Ariana and Tom agreed. Jax has never admitted to “hating” Tom, but he has said that they’re just not on the same pages. Since he’s now a father to his son Cruz Taylor, Jax stated that he mostly hangs out with married couples and other parents.

After season 8 ended, the fact that Jax and Brittany wouldn’t come back to VPR became common knowledge. Former stars Stassi Schroeder and Kristen were fired from the show following a racism controversy. The original friend group became severed and many new faces joined, including Tom’s new BFF, Brock Davies. Tom also seems to have gotten closer to James Kennedy, and even paid for part of his surprise proposal to Raquel Leviss, although their relationship was destined to end.

Jax and Tom seem to have both moved on from their friendship, as they no longer follow each other on social media. Although he is no longer on Vanderpump Rules, Jax is keeping busy by producing and investing in shows. He also earns a living with endorsement deals from various companies, and through his Amazon page, where he promotes products. His son Cruz may have a brother or sister in the near future. Tom is busy with his co-owned bar Tom Tom and involved with planning the opening of his new bar with his long-time friend, Tom Schwartz. Fans miss the dynamic between Jax and Tom, and hopefully, a cameo from Jax will be in the cards one day on Vanderpump Rules.
