Very Cavallari star Jay Cutler just gave “honey, I lost the kids” a whole new meaning amid his divorce with reality star Kristin Cavallari. The former NFL athlete announced his split with The Hills star last April after spending 10 years together. They share three children: 9-year-old son Camden, 7-year-old son Jaxon, and 5-year-old daughter Saylor. Since then, Jay and Kristin have been seen to quite a few potential suitors. Though Kristin has been rumored to be with several men of the reality TV community, she currently has her sights set on country music star Chase Rice. As for Jay, he’s been seen taking his relationship with Jana Kramer to the next level.

SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY

Though Jay reportedly told Kristin about his initial date with the One Tree Hill actress, it still made waves through the Nashville area since the women once considered each other friends and even shared the screen together in the 2009 comedy Spring Breakdown. Jay and Jana explored their connection by enjoying each other’s company at Bourbon Steak and then grabbed drinks at a Nashville hotspot. Following the date, Kristin blocked Jana, but that didn’t stop the new couple from pursuing one another. Jana and Jay were actually recently photographed together while visiting The Twelve Thirty Club earlier this month. Sources claim the couple have gotten quite close by bonding over their similar divorce experiences.

Now that Jay is a single dad, he’s talking about every parent’s worst nightmare coming true on his Uncut With Jay Cutler podcast. The athlete described the moment he had  “a panic attack” while his two younger kids were playing upstairs in the craft room. After realizing it’s been rather quiet in the house for about 20 minutes, Jay went to check on them only to realize, they’re nowhere to be found. “I’m yelling for them, I’m doing all the things, nothing, nothing, nothing,” he said. “Go outside, they have these dirt bikes, dirt bikes are there, the other bikes are there. I go around back, there’s a pool, I’m like looking in the pool, they can all swim, not there. I go in the pool house, not there.”

Jay continued to look everywhere including a nearby hill and the mailbox, only to hear a faint giggle from their treehouse. Jay discovered his kids tried to prank him and were laying down so he couldn’t see them. “I’m like, ‘I need you two down here right now, right this second,'” Jay recalled, noting he was likely harsher than that. Jay continued to explained that once his kids got down, they asked him if it was funny, to which he asked if they could hear him freaking out the whole time. Jaxon informed him they were well aware he was on the search for him, and as a result, he and Saylor had to sit in two chairs for an hour without TV or any electronics. “It was probably 15 minutes that I was looking around,” Jay said. “I was really pissed off and then I was like, ‘I’m glad you’re OK.’ And [I] had to explain why that wasn’t — you scared me, you can’t do that. And then I went back to being mad and I was like, ‘Alright, you get no dessert and you have to sit in these chairs for an hour.'”

Kids do the darnedest things, but thankfully they’re all safe and sound at home with Jay. It wouldn’t have been a good look if Jay really did lose two of his kids as he’s currently in court fighting for joint custody with the Very Cavallari star. Still, it’s a bit uncomfortable so hopefully Jay told Kristin before sharing the story on his podcast.
