Olivia Munn and four other actors have joined the cast of Tales of the Walking Dead. The onscreen universe of The Walking Dead began when the show – based on the Robert Kirkman graphic novel series of the same name – first aired on AMC in 2010. Over the years, the massively popular post-apocalyptic zombie drama, which is currently airing its eleventh and final season, has spawned a variety of spinoffs including Fear the Walking Dead, which itself has run for 7 seasons so far. Although the main branch of the series is ending, the universe will continue with a series of films following Andrew Lincoln’s character Rick Grimes, a Daryl and Carol spinoff series, and Tales of the Walking Dead.

Tales of the Walking Dead is a brand new spinoff of the series that will tell a different story each episode, following characters both familiar and new. Because of the less demanding time commitment in terms of filming, the series has drawn a variety of interesting stars that includes Anthony Edwards, Parker Posey, Terry Crews, Poppy Liu, and Jillian Bell. Until today, the most recent star to join the series was Cowboy Bebop‘s Daniella Pineda, whose casting was announced last week.

Per EW, five new cast members have now joined Tales of the Walking Dead in one fell swoop. AMC officially announced that they have cast Olivia Munn, Jessie T. Usher, Danny Ramirez, Loan Chabanol, and Embeth Davidtz. As usual, the network remains tight-lipped about what characters they will be playing, which characters will appear alongside each other in certain episodes, and what familiar Walking Dead characters they might interact with along the way.

Olivia Munn is perhaps the best-known name on this list, having appeared in the Aaron Sorkin HBO series The Newsroom as well as playing Psylocke in X-Men: Apocalypse. However, each of these newcomers has a strong filmography, many having had their own brush with the world of superheroics. Jessie T. Usher is best known for playing A-Train on The Boys and Danny Ramirez recently held a memorable role as Joaquin Torres in Marvel’s Disney+ series The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. Loan Chabanol starred in The Transporter Refueled, and Embeth Davidtz has had a long career, though she’s perhaps best known for playing Miss Honey in 1996’s Matilda.

Tales of the Walking Dead is certainly gathering a strong group of survivors to face off against the undead hordes of Walkers. The anthology nature of the series means that each of these actors may only be onscreen for one episode, unfortunately. However, their combined skill and star wattage is likely to lead to another hit for the Walking Dead universe.
