Warhammer 40K: Tacticus Is Bringing the Wargame To Mobile
Rivengard and Legend of Solgard mobile game developer, Snowprint Studios, has officially unveiled its new tactical licensed game, Warhammer 40,000: Tacticus, which will release for iOS and Android in 2022. Recognized as the most popular miniature wargame in the world, Games Workshop’s Warhammer 40,000 has spawned numerous adaptations including spin-offs, comics, novels, films, and an endless list of video games that are still being developed by respective studios.
In Warhammer 40,000: Tacticus‘ new reveal trailer and press release, developer Snowprint Studios has shared new information regarding the game. The title promises to be an in-depth tactical experience where players can assemble an army using a variety of units from the Warhammer 40,000 universe and enjoy intense PvE and PvP battles. Additionally, co-op will also be available with guild boss fights that can be toppled by teaming up with other players. Matt Forbeck, the renowned writer who has worked on many Warhammer titles before, has written the game’s story. Rather than focusing on a single perspective, the richly detailed tactical game’s narrative is set to follow multiple factions such as the Ultramarines, Necrons, Adepta Sororitas, and Black Legion, with many more to be revealed in the future.
While the latest title, Necromunda: Hired Gun brought the universe to the first-person shooter genre, and similar Warhammer 40,000 games are planned for the future, the franchise is returning to its Turn-based tactics roots next year. This can be seen not only in the newly announced Warhammer 40,000: Tacticus, but in Warhammer 40,000: Chaos Gate – Daemonhunters, which is set to release on PC. While no release date has been announced for the new premier mobile experience, tactics game fans can rejoice as Warhammer 40,000‘s vast universe is expanding with an all-new mobile title.
