Warhammer: Vermintide 2 is, in many ways, a straightforward game. It is, in fact, a part of the Warhammer Fantasy universe. It is a sequel. Players will use a giant hammer to fight off hordes of rat-men and other enemies. It’s pretty great! And it is solid proof that first-person melee combat can be good—and with the release of Chaos Wastes, it just got even better.

Chaos Wastes is a huge new DLC for Warhammer: Vermintide 2. Best of all, it’s entirely free to anyone who already owns Warhammer: Vermintide 2 and will come included for anyone who purchases the game from here on out. While the DLC features a slew of new content, the biggest additions come with an entirely different game mode to play across 15 brand-new maps. The new game mode is essentially a rogue-lite, requiring players to march through different combinations of the new areas on their way to the Citadel of Eternity. It creates an extremely satisfying and fresh game loop from that found in the base game and is worth checking out for old fans of the game and newcomers alike. Here is how to get access to the new Chaos Wastes content.
