The MG42 is the first Light Machine Gun or LMG in Warzone Pacific Caldera. Being the first LMG in the Vanguard Section of Warzone, players can use the MG42 as soon as they start the game.  The stock version has a fast fire rate and extreme recoil compared to other LMG’s in its class. It can be best used in short to medium-range engagements in Warzone Caldera.

SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY

Players are able to equip up to 8 Attachments and 2 Perks on the MG42. There are a total of 70 Upgrade Tiers before reaching Max Gun Rank. The MG42 is equipped with a Muzzle, Barrel, Underbarrel, Magazine, Ammunition, Optic, Rear Grip, Stock, Perk 1 and Perk 2 Attachment Slots. All Attachment Slots will become available at Max Gun Rank.

When maneuvering in combat, the Mg42 will slow the player’s movement while sprinting and tactical sprinting. Resulting in players becoming easy targets in open terrain. To avoid the movement penalty, switch to a secondary weapon when sprinting or stay out of open areas as much as possible. There are Attachments available to counter the slow movement of the MG42, but this build will focus on damage and recoil control.

Best Attachments for the MG42 in Call of Duty Warzone

The order for Attachments to equip will go from left to right on the Warzone Gunsmith Screen for the Mg42.

  • The Underbarrel: m1941 Hand Stop for Recoil Control and Accuracy or Carver Foregrip to increase Recoil Control & Hip Fire Accuracy.
  • The Magazine: 8mm Klauser 250 Round Box, has the largest magazine size capping at 250 rounds for continued suppressive fire, or 13mm Anti Material 125 Round Drum Mag for extra damage and damage range, but sacrifices an LMG larger magazine size in Warzone.

  • The Optic: G16 2.5x, a small scope offering 2.5x magnification to extend combat range. Also, provides extra Recoil Control. There are other scopes available like the Saturn 1.35x Lens, but the G16 2.5x has the best overall zoom and clarity.
  • The Stock: VDD 64M for Accuracy, Flinch Resistance, Recoil Control, and Aiming Stability, or VDD Skeletal for better Recoil Control after sprinting.
  • Perk 1: Tight Grip, increases accuracy while continuously firing. One of the New Perks introduced in Warzone.
