With the new Warzone Pacific Caldera update, players will have to choose their first weapons wisely. While the weapon drops are different in Warzone Pacific Caldera, the principles of weapon pickups have stayed the same. Players will want to pick up weapons that cater to their playstyle to maximize efficiency in Warzone Pacific Caldera. This mainly means choosing weapons that work at certain distances. No matter if players are in the gulag or regular gameplay, weapons can be catered to each playstyle.

Every player in Warzone Pacific Caldera will have different weapon preferences, but each player should keep distance in mind. If players have two short-range weapons, such as the OST-9 and the MAC-10, their accuracy at mid-to-long-range will be heavily compromised. Right when players drop onto the map, they should pick up whatever weapons they can to be prepared for an immediate fight. After the immediate confrontations, try to pick up weapons that divide range between long-range, mid-range, and short-range.

The best weapons dropping into Warzone Pacific Caldera have some overlap with the drop weapons from Warzone Verdansk. The best weapon on drop is currently the STG-44. There is no going wrong with the STG-44, even within loadouts, since the weapon has steady recoil, damage, firing rate, and ammo capacity. Players should always pick up an STG-44 upon drop, no matter what other weapons they have slotted. Currently, there is no better option for close-range or mid-range drop weapons. Other multiplayer maps within the wide-scale Warzone Pacific Caldera map might have different drops, but the weapon loadouts should be the same.

Best Drop Weapons To Get First In Warzone Pacific Caldera

Past the STG-44, players can expect to encounter MAC-10s, DP-27s, DMR-14s, Automatons, NZ-41s, OTS-9s, BARs, Kar98ks, and PPSH-41s, among other weapons. Each of these weapons can be used efficiently in the right hands, but some are better catered toward certain playstyles.

If players want to excel at mid-to-long range, they should pick up DP-27s, DMR-14s, NZ-41s, Automatons, BARs, and Kar98ks. Kar98ks and DMR-14s still excel at mid-to-long-range, just like in Warzone Verdansk, and should be used accordingly. MAC-10s, OST-9s, and PPSH-41s are more suited toward close-quarters combat. MAC-10s and OST-9s should specifically be used for encounters no longer than 50-100 meters out, while PPSH-41s can be used for longer skirmishes in the hands of more accurate players. Keep in mind, OST-9s have been nerfed in the Warzone Pacific Caldera patch, so they should be used the least out of all these SMGs. MAC-10s and PPSH-41s continue to be efficient and effective options for close-range SMGs. Players can roast Warzone Pacific Caldera all they want, the weapon efficiencies will not be changing with this update.

Warzone Pacific Caldera is available on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.
