A common Call of Duty: Warzone glitch has introduced an unlikely solution to the infamous Rook skin, which makes the Operator Roze virtually invisible in dark environments. The issue with this particular cosmetic has been making the rounds since the skin’s initial introduction months ago.

While Roze’s Rook skin has been available in Warzone since 2020, it hasn’t been until early 2021 when the community became enraged by the cosmetic’s unfair tactical advantage. The dark-colored costume was being abused by the majority of professional teams that participated in the Twitch Rivals tournament, which effectively put on display the broken status of the Rook skin. The difficulty in spotting this skin in darker areas of maps gave players who used it an advantage. Players and famous gaming personalities were vocally expressing their displeasure and outright calling the skin a pay-to-win accessory.

While admiring their Operators in the main menu, Warzone players can occasionally come across a slightly discomforting yet hardly harmful glitch that simply overlaps character models. For instance, one Call of Duty: Warzone glitch that commonly appears in the game causes the Roze Operator to become partially merged with a different Warzone character who lent the infamous pitch-black Rook skin a khaki-colored vest. Reddit user PEP7s shared the glitch, but also noted that this visually unappealing combination effectively solves the major concern about the unbalanced Rook cosmetic.

The imminent start of Season 3 in Warzone is setting up tons of innovations and changes for the immensely popular battle royale title. According to Raven Software, a widely requested adjustment for the Roze Rook skin is on its way, hopefully landing right after the new season takes over. Some players, however, suggested extreme measures such as deleting the skin from the game completely.

Players have had to deal with the unbalanced state of the Roze Rook skin for nearly a year in Warzone. Despite the fact that players have been expressing their frustrations at the state of this skin and how broken it is in Warzone, a fix is still only promised at this point. It’s somewhat ironic that the simplest solution has been suggested by the game itself, albeit via an unintentional glitch. The fact that glitches have shown that slight changes to the color of Roze’s equipment would fix the issue make it even more frustrating that the bug has not yet been fixed. For now, Warzone players will have to hope for this glitch or keep their eyes peeled in dark corners
