Watch The Fairly OddParents creator Butch Hartman draw some classic horror villains in the show’s distinct style. Butch Hartman has been behind a few beloved cartoon series, such as Danny Phantom and The Fairly OddParents. The latter is arguably his best known and follows a young boy named Timmy who has two quirky godparents named Cosmo and Wanda. The show’s comic formula usually saw Timmy granted a wish that backfires in some way, and he spends most of the episode undoing the damage it creates.

The Fairly OddParents actually started life on Nickelodeon’s Oh Yeah! Cartoons, which was a cartoon short anthology. A few segments from this show such as My Life as a Teenage Robot eventually spawned their own spinoffs, but The Fairly OddParents (which even has memes) was the most successful. It ran for ten seasons and received offshoots in the form of live-action TV specials and games, and became the longest-running Nickelodeon cartoon behind SpongeBob SquarePants. That said, like many long-running series, some devotees of Fairly OddParents felt the quality diminished as the years passed, especially when new characters such as Poof or pet dog Sparky were added to the existing line-up.

Still, The Fairly OddParents is a beloved series for a reason and still has a fanbase since coming to a close in 2017. Hartman himself is an active presence online, including a YouTube channel where uploads drawing videos or answers viewer queries. In 2017, he uploaded “Horror Characters in the Fairly OddParents Style,” where – as the title suggests – he drew horror icons in the show’s signature style.

The Fairly OddParents creator draws quite a lot of horror villains in the series signature look, including Freddy Krueger – who makes creative use of his razor glove – or Alien’s Xenomorph. Demonic babysitter Vicky is drawn by Hartman chasing after Child’s Play’s Chucky with a chainsaw, while even video game icons like Freddy Fazbear from Five Nights At Freddy’s appears.

Hartman is clearly having a good time reimagining horror villains in The Fairly OddParents‘ style, although had they actually appeared on the series, they probably would have given younger viewers nightmares. While the series came to an end in 2017, a live-action The Fairly OddParents TV series will arrive on Paramount+ in early 2022, with creator Butch Hartman returning as producer. The show will also act as a direct sequel instead of being a reboot and continues on from where the original show ended.
