A popular Showtime comedy that aired for an impressive 8 seasons before its cancellation, Weeds is currently back in the limelight. Starz has announced that a brand-new Weeds series is currently in development. Details on the reboot are slim, but it is rumored that it will involve a similar cast and take place in a modern timeline that explores the topic of legalized marijuana.

Regardless of the route that the sequel takes, the original show holds a special place in fans’ hearts, not only for its hilarious storylines but for its excellent cast members. Along with Mary-Louise Parker at the helm of the quirky series, it also featured a wide array of talented guest stars.

10 Jeffrey Dean Morgan

The amazing thing about Judah Botwin is that he isn’t alive in a single episode. He isn’t even shown in flashbacks. He is in a glimpse of home video footage, and the briefest of dream sequences in a total of two episodes, and yet his presence is felt throughout the show.

Played by Jeffrey Dean Morgan, prior to The Walking Dead fame, Judah may have been gone, but he was never forgotten.

9 Carrie Fisher

Amidst a messy divorce after her affair with Doug, Celia hires Arlene Cutter, a hard-hitting lawyer played by Carrie Fisher.

Fisher is a bittersweet and nostalgic piece of many Star Wars fans’ lives. Though her beloved role as “Princess Leia” made her famous, she continued her acting career after the original trilogy, and over the years she guest-starred in many sitcoms including 30 Rock, Sex And The City, and Family Guy.

8 Martin Short

Martin Short has a rich history in comedy that stems back to the 1970s. Often sharing the big screen with their friend and fellow comic, Steve Martin, Short has worked in movies, television, stand up, and even as a cast member of Saturday Night Live.

He graced Weeds with his presence for a three-episode arc in season 7 as Steward Havens, Nancy’s eccentric, pro-bono attorney.

7 Alanis Morissette

Alanis Morissette’s name is heavily associated with her successful career in music, but she is also a notable actress with appearances in Nip/Tuck, Curb Your Enthusiasm, and Sex in the City.

Kevin Smith even cast her as “God” twice in Dogma and Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back. She had an 8 episode run in Weeds as Audra Kitson, Nancy’s doctor, who later becomes romantically involved with Andy.

6 Zooey Deschanel

Before New Girl, Zooey Deschanel sparkled as Andy’s adorable but absolutely bonkers ex-girlfriend. Known as the “crazy chick from Alaska” that stabbed Andy with an icicle, Kat jumps back into Andy’s life as if he didn’t move states to avoid her.

A kleptomaniac as well as a stalker, Kat spends her four episodes attempting to ditch an angry bounty hunter determined to bring her in for stealing poker chips.

5 Lee Majors

A veteran actor who has had a prominent presence in Hollywood since the 1960s with his work in The Six Million Dollar Man, Lee Majors heads back to the small screen in Weeds.

Majors guest stars in three episodes as “Minute-Man Leader”, the nameless boss of an unofficial border patrol militia that Andy and Doug join in order to secretly help immigrants cross the border.

4 Mary-Kate Olsen

Prior to her retirement from acting, Mary-Kate Olsen had a recurring guest role as Tara, Silas’s highly religious girlfriend. Despite her heavy involvement with the church, Tara is passionate about the use of marijuana due to the plant’s natural “God-given” benefits.

Upon becoming a short-term dealer for the Botwin family business, she primarily sells to members of her church.

3 Bob Odenkirk

An ex-pilot in rehab for his cocaine addiction, Odenkirk’s character briefly bonds with Celia at the clinic, and “generously” attempts to share his drugs with her.

Well known for his work on another show about turning to dealing in order to survive, after Breaking Bad, Odenkirk went on to star in the subsequent spin-off centered around attorney Saul Goodman, AKA Jimmy McGill.

2 Albert Brooks

One of the last things to expect from a series like Weeds would be a Finding Nemo cast reunion, but that’s exactly what happens in season four in a brief storyline that involves Lenny Botwin, Judah and Andy’s neglectful father.

Prior to his work on the show, Albert Brooks starred as “Marlin” in the Pixar classic, alongside Alexander Gould, who voiced “Nemo” before being cast as Shane Botwin.

1 Snoop Dogg

Nancy and Conrad make their first sale of their brand new strain “MILF Weed” to none other than Snoop himself! Another celebrity recognized first for his career in music, Snoop Dogg has been acting since the early 2000s.

Often posing as himself or characters based on himself, he also does a significant amount of voice acting in children’s movies, including Turbo, Racing Stripes, and The Addam’s Family.
