A surprising and weird Samuel L. Jackson parallel between The Incredibles and Avengers: Infinity War gets spotlighted in a new video. Jackson is one of the most iconic actors of his generation, appearing in notable films like Pulp Fiction, Jurassic Park, and Shaft over the years. These days, he’s perhaps best known for playing Nick Fury in the MCU, a role he first stepped into for the end-credits scene of Iron Man. Jackson has appeared in a grand total of 11 MCU films (end-credits included) and is set to return for his own Disney+ series, titled Secret Invasion.

Before joining the MCU, though, Jackson had already waded into the superhero realm with The Incredibles. In voicing Frozone, the icy hero who just wants to find his supersuit, he played a vital part in the beloved 2004 Pixar film. Jackson returned for 2018’s Incredibles 2, much to the delight of fans everywhere. Despite both of Jackson’s superhero roles existing under the Disney bubble, there’s no reason to believe they’re connected. However, as a new video points out, there’s a rather uncanny parallel between the two.

SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY

As explained by obscurefilm in a TikTok (shared on Twitter by Jeannine LC), Jackson’s end-credit scene from Avengers: Infinity War has Nick Fury witness a helicopter flying out of control and hitting a building. Meanwhile, The Incredibles‘ iconic “where’s my supersuit” scene has Frozone inside his apartment… as a helicopter spirals and hits the building. Even more wild: The two parts sync up perfectly. Check it out down below.

It’s almost like the team behind The Incredibles knew about Avengers: Infinity War back in 2004! Of course, not really. It’s just a hilarious coincidence made all the more perfect by its connection to Jackson. Fans have surely already found all the connections that exist between Frozone and Nick Fury, though this one just might be the most unique of them all. This might be one of those unintentional parallels that fans hold close for their own enjoyment, regardless of whether it means anything.

Jackson has long been a vital part of the MCU, and he will continue on with the franchise with Secret Invasion. In fact, that series will mark the first time Jackson has led his own project as Nick Fury; everywhere else, he played supporting parts. Captain Marvel was perhaps his biggest role yet, and he’ll only get to dive further into the character with Secret Invasion. Needless to say, Jackson’s superhero career has come a long way since The Incredibles, and it’s been a thrill to watch.
