Welcome To Plathville: Olivia Plath Announces Her Move To Florida On IG

After a disheartening update on the Plaths on Welcome To Plathville in season 3 of the TLC series, Olivia Plath shared on Instagram that she is finally moving from Cairo to Tampa, Florida. Ethan and Olivia Plath have endured a number of hardships over the course of their relationship, surviving as a young couple, yet season 3 has shown their marriage falling to pieces over past trauma and lack of communication. With complications on and off of the show, Ethan and Olivia continue to struggle in their marriage, navigating what the future holds for them as individuals and as a couple. As the season concludes, audiences are thrown into the heat of their conflict and left curious about how the series will move forward.

Whether it be her disagreements with Kim and Barry or her inability to accept small-town life, Olivia has had difficulty assimilating into the Plath family. With a progressive outlook on life and a desire to pursue photography in a big city, Ethan and Olivia haven’t been able to find any compromise on their aspirations, leading to Olivia moving out for a time during the filming of season 3. Unable to face Ethan’s parents in the past, Oliva has continued to hide from both her marital issues, as well as her in-laws. With plenty of work ahead for the couple, Ethan and Olivia appear to be working on their marriage, despite their many shortcomings.

Posted on Instagram, Olivia shared about her move to Tampa, Florida and her excitement to escape Cairo. While season 3 has focused on Ethan and Olivia’s inability to decide on a place to move, Olivia has confirmed that Tampa seems to be the best fit, far from the rest of the Plaths and a place for her to have a fresh start. Making sense of her “unraveling” by Kim and Barry’s abuse and judgment, Olivia now sees how her painful past has allowed her to improve as a person, helping her to “build” and “heal.” Making sense of who she is as a person and even confronting both Barry and Kim before her departure, Olivia has shown a substantial amount of growth over the course of season 3. Bold and unflinching in her post to social media, Olivia appears completely focused on her future, acknowledging past wounds but motivated by new “beginnings” far from Georgia.

Olivia has been resilient throughout the series and specifically in season 3. Having been patient with Ethan as he tries to adapt to her growth throughout their marriage and attempting to reconcile with Barry and Kim before her move to Tampa, Olivia has tried her best to be a part of the Plath family, despite their rejection. Handling her blossoming career as a photographer, helping to mentor and care for Moriah Plath, and trying to save her failing marriage, Olivia has had plenty to manage and has come out of this troubling season stronger than ever.

Despite their issues, Olivia has posted positively about Ethan, giving audiences hope as season 3 comes to an explosive end. While the Plath family conflict is far from over, fans are given some relief from the tension as Olivia shares humorous Halloween photos of herself and Ethan, explores the joys of her marriage, and expresses her enthusiasm for Tampa. Ending the season as positively as possible, Olivia provides well-needed relief from the intensity of the series.
