TLC’s Welcome to Plathville introduced the world to the large Plath family, and most of the family’s members are dedicated to religion and the family band. The kindness of the older Plath children featured on the show (Ethan, Moriah, Micah, and Lydia) made up for the strange rules and domineering attitude of the Plath parents, Kim and Barry. In season 2, the Plath family moved to a new home, and their old home is available to rent on Airbnb.

Kim and Barry call the small town of Cairo, Georgia home, and they are known for restricting their children’s access to the secular world. Currently, only 5 out of 9 Plath children live in the new farmhouse with Kim and Barry. Ethan and his wife Olivia live a few miles down the road, but they rarely have contact with Ethan’s parents. Micah and Moriah live close by too, after being kicked out of their old home as teenagers. Rather than sell their original home once they moved, Kim and Barry put it on Airbnb.

The Plath’s old home is called the Farmhouse at The Retreat at Silver Rein. It’s a 50-acre property near the town of Wingham, Georgia, just a few miles from Cairo. The home has 3 bedrooms, 7 beds, and 2 bathrooms. There is a wood stove in the home, and outside, there’s a volleyball net, horses, cows, and a swing set. Kim even provides a TV for her guests (just not for her own children).

The inside of the house looks clean and comfortable, and fans will likely recognize the kitchen and living room from the show. So, how much is Kim charging guests to stay at the large property? Currently, a one-night weekend stay costs $249, with all feed included. A weeknight stay will set a Welcome to Plathville fan back $244.

TLC viewers who don’t have $249 to spare but still want a taste of the possibly scammy Plath lifestyle, may rent Kim and Barry’s small cabin on one of their properties. The Airbnb website has conflicting information. In the “About” section, Kim wrote, “If you need to do laundry during your stay, you are welcome to bring it to our house in Cairo, about five miles away,” but in the “During Your Stay” section, she wrote, “Our farm house is on the same property as the cabin so we are nearby if you need anything.

It’s probable that the cabin is on the same property as their old farmhouse, which is the one that fans can rent on Airbnb. The small wooden cabin, which sits on a pond and has one bedroom, costs $158 a night. This price is for a one-night weekend or weeknight stay. So, that is the budget option.

The reviews for Kim’s properties are very positive. The Farmhouse at The Retreat at Silver Rein has a solid 5 stars, with 34 reviews. The Cabin on the Pond has a respectable 4.90 stars with 89 reviews. Kim is a “Superhost,” and many of the reviewers rave about her hospitality. She’s a good guest too, as 6 hosts gave her positive reviews after her own Airbnb vacations. If dedicated fans can gather up a few friends to split the cost, living like the Welcome to Plathville family for a night or two should be a pretty sweet deal.
