Welcome To Plathville: Why Fame May Have Ruined Olivia & Ethan’s Marriage

Fans have grown to love Ethan and Olivia Plath on Welcome to Plathville, but having their relationship in the public eye may have ruined their marriage. For three seasons of the show, fans have watched Ethan and Olivia grow in their relationship and work through their issues together. In the latest season, the couple has decided to take a break indefinitely and work on themselves outside of the marriage. Here is why fame may be the cause of their separation.

In Welcome to Plathville season one, Ethan and Olivia were fresh off of their wedding and settling into their new lives as husband and wife. There was some tension between Ethan’s parents, Kim and Barry Plath, and Olivia. Kim and Barry worried Olivia would be a bad influence on Ethan and his younger siblings, as she encouraged them to try new things. By Welcome to Plathville season two, Olivia and Ethan had cut ties with his parents and family.

The couple battled through different views on piercings and tattoos, with Ethan eventually agreeing to a couple’s tattoo. They then took a trip to California at the end of season two, and Ethan proposed to Olivia again with a new ring. Things were looking up for the couple until they returned to Welcome to Plathville season three. The show has gotten more popular with each passing season, and having more people giving their opinion about their relationship seems to have taken its toll. Fans have started criticizing Olivia, saying she is similar to Kim in many ways and is putting on an act for the cameras.

Olivia has decided to use her platform as a way of promoting her photography business as well. She has decided she wants to live in a bigger city and has changed her dreams since joining Welcome to Plathville. Meanwhile, Ethan is content with his normal life in rural Cairo, working and fixing up his cars. Ethan is more reserved when it comes to social media, likely because he was not brought up using it. Though some fans believe Ethan and Olivia’s split is due to his parents finally coming between them for good or because they were so young when they married, fame may have more to do with it.
