Welcome to Plathville: Why Fans Are Outraged Over Hosanna Plath Video

Hosanna Plath isn’t featured on Welcome to Plathville and tends to stay out of the spotlight, but one of her videos resurfaced, and it’s time to talk away why her clip stirred up drama amongst the show’s fans. Hosanna’s the only Plath child who isn’t shown on the family’s reality show. She is the oldest daughter and she moved away from Cairo, Georgia after getting married. Since she lives far away from the rest of her family, she could not appear on the popular reality show with her eight siblings and parents.

Compared to the rest of the Plath family, fans know very little about Hosanna Plath. The 21-year-old was the first to leave home (she moved to Ohio) after marrying fellow musician Timothy Nobel in 2019. Kim and Barry support her marriage to Timothy, whom Hosanna met at a gospel music show. The Plath family were all in a band that performed Christian music in different parts of Georgia. She has a talent for detecting harmonies, and she’s mastered several instruments. Her musical skills helped The Plath Family Band to gain recognition.

Kim and Barry Plath repeatedly tried to make their family famous before they got their wish with Welcome to Plathville. Kim created a website for her family’s band, made CDs, and appeared in a documentary that followed all nine kids. In the recently resurfaced video, Kim and Barry gave viewers an inside look into each of the Plath children’s non-musical passions. Many fans believe that Kim highlighted the fact that her kids were kept from having friends during their childhood, and one of the matriarch’s comments was about Hosanna. Viewers were angered that Kim would make fun of Hosanna for not having friends, even though Kim and her husband were the reason for that problem.

Barry and Kim have been called hypocrites in the past, as they would not allow their kids to watch TV or learn about popular culture, even though they chased fame for years before becoming reality stars. While the strict Plath parents bragged about each of their children, many fans noticed that they insulted Hosanna in the clip. Barry started out the segment by talking about Hosanna’s expertise with the violin, piano, Dobro guitar, and banjo. Kim, who has been accused of being manipulative in the past, then mentioned her daughter’s penchant for writing to pen pals.

Kim said that Hosanna has about forty pen pals that she sends handwritten letters to. Kim then slighted her daughter by needlessly adding that Hosanna likes to write all of her pen pals back right away, even though they always take a long time to reply. One Reddit user, Woobsie81, commented that Kim was “making her daughter seem like a loser.” A lot of Welcome to Plathville fans felt that she was tearing Hosanna down in the video, whereas she only said positive things about all of the other kids.
