With Among Us abundant popularity, it was only a matter of time before fans began to picture its plucky crewmates and Impostors invading other games, such as Nintendo’s Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. It may feel like a stretch so say there could one day be DLC bringing Among Us‘ characters to Nintendo’s platform fighter, but with recent DLC including Minecraft‘s Steve, there’s no reason fans can’t dream. Luckily, the internet has brought creative fans together to whip up stellar potential movesets for Among Us crewmates in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.

Among Us bears little resemblance to Super Smash Bros. Ultimate: In Among Us, small groups of players partake in a murder mystery, with crewmates attempting to complete a series of tasks before the Impostors hidden among them take them out. Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, meanwhile, is a frenetic party fighting game that brings together some of the most popular characters from Nintendo and other top publishers in a crazy brawl. But the games’ differences haven’t stopped fans from creating concept art of a crewmate in Smash.

Among Us’ Crewmate may feel like the furthest thing from a proper Super Smash Bros. Ultimate character, but Smash‘s range of varied DLC fighters demonstrates how wide the inspirational net can be. With a little creative tweaking of Among Us‘ many task-related actions, there’s potential for a powerful yet playable addition to the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate DLC lineup.

Among Us’ Potential Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Moveset

Twitter user onyx recently put together a mockup of what an Among Us crewmate’s moveset could be. The moves consist of some of the most iconic activities players encounter in Among Us, while still conforming to the speed and snappy design that all Super Smash Bros. Ultimate DLC characters exhibit. Most of these moves involve Among Us tasks in one way or another, like the directional air attacks utilizing a jerrycan, a potted plant, and leaves from the O2 filter. Other moves reveal the Impostor, including the up and down smash attacks, which incorporate their kill animations, like tongue-stabbing or gun-shooting.

Most commenters were happy with onyx’s design choices, while others proposed that Among Us‘ crewmates would work better as assist trophies. The major point of discussion concerning the Among Us Smash moveset was the Final Smash, focusing mostly on how best to incorporate Among Us‘ voting and venting.

Among Us and Super Smash Bros. Ultimatare two exceptionally popular games; Among Us was 2020’s most Googled game, after all. So it was only a matter of time before some intrepid fans began to speculate about potential crossover DLC. While there’s absolutely nothing concrete in the works, players a few years ago might have doubted Minecraft Steve’s ability to join the fight. With a move set as compelling as this one, there might yet be hope to get an Among Us crewmate into Smash… Or was it an Impostor?
