The former 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days cast member Geoffrey Paschel is facing up to two decades in prison, and it’s time to talk about the violent crimes that he was convicted of late last year. Though 90DF alum Geoffrey was arrested for assaulting his former girlfriend before he was cast in the 90 Day Fiancé franchise, he controversially received the green light from TLC to pursue Varya Malina and Mary Wallace in a televised love triangle. While Geoffrey waits to find out how long his sentence will be, fans want to learn more about his troubles with the law.

Geoffrey appeared on Before the 90 Days season 4. On that season, he was torn between his feelings for his Russian love interest Varya and his American on-again-off-again girlfriend, Mary. While on the show, Geoffrey confessed to Varya that he had a criminal history involving drugs. He explained to Varya that he had been arrested in 2001 after being caught dealing drugs. Fans then discovered that 90DF star Geoffrey had a lengthy criminal history, including multiple arrests for drugs and theft. However, franchise fans soon discovered that drug possession charges were the least of Geoffrey’s concerns, as the former 90 Day Fiancé franchise personality was convicted last year of domestic violence.

Following a two-day trial last October, a jury found Geoffrey guilty of aggravated kidnapping, domestic assault, interference with emergency calls, and vandalism. The domestic disturbance between him and his now ex-fiancee occurred on June 9, 2019, at Geoffrey’s home. He grabbed the woman by her neck, slammed her head against the wall, and threw her to the floor before dragging her, according to reporting by People. Geoffrey then took the woman’s phone and prevented her from leaving the property. However, she was able to flee to a neighbor’s home. The incident left the woman with a large bruise on her forehead and a concussion, as well as numerous bruises and cuts from 90DF‘s Geoffrey’s assault.

90 Day Fiancé franchise fans were shocked that Geoffrey had been cast on Before the 90 Days since the domestic incident occurred before his casting, though he wasn’t convicted until last October. He was originally set to be sentenced in early December 2021. However, his sentencing was delayed two months and moved to February 3. Due to the seriousness of his crimes, Geoffrey is facing between 12 and 20 years in prison. However, Varya has shown 90DF fans that she is standing by Geoffrey. The Russian woman, who is rumored to be married to the convicted abuser, maintains that Geoffrey is innocent. Varya has been active on Instagram, showing her support for her partner and providing updates about his time in prison.

Varya might be standing by him, but Geoffrey lost the support of 90DF fans when his violent past was revealed. Viewers were horrified that Geoffrey was cast by TLC. It made them wonder what kind of vetting the network did before he was selected to appear on 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days. Since Geoffrey hasn’t shown guilt or remorse for his crimes, a lot of people are hoping that he will receive the maximum sentence. However, both Varya and Geoffrey’s family members remain convinced that he was wrongfully convicted and should be freed. Nevertheless, the former reality TV personality is set to spend a decade or two behind bars.
