Emma Caulfield charmed audiences as Anya, the bunny-hating former vengeance demon on Buffy the Vampire Slayer, and since the show’s finale in 2003, has gone on to lend her talents to film and television projects.

Anya Jenkins, also known as Anyanka, ended up providing much-needed levity to the Scooby Gang throughout the seasons of Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Though most well-known through her long-term relationship with Xander Harris, Anya became a fan favorite because of her quirks, including a matter-of-fact way of speaking, materialistic greed, humorous relationship as an employee at The Magic Box, and eventually, a savior of mankind when she sacrificed her life in the final battle against The First Evil.

Emma Caulfield had roles on shows like Beverly Hills, 90210 and General Hospital before her tenure on Buffy, but her role on Joss Whedon’s cult classic series established her skills in both comedy and drama, making her a versatile performer capable of handling a varied career after the series ended in 2003.

What Emma Caulfield Did After Buffy The Vampire Slayer

Directly after Buffy ended, Caulfield continued in the romantic comedy space with the lead role of Charlie in I Want To Marry Ryan Banks, where she starred opposite Bradley Cooper and Jason Priestley. She reunited with her old Buffy co-star, Seth Green, and lent vocal talents to a couple episodes of Robot Chicken in 2006 and 2007. In 2009, Caulfield played Oona in a quirky, sci-fi romantic comedy called TiMer, about a society where people can elect to have timers placed on their wrists that counts down to the precise moment where they meet their soulmate, giving lovelorn singles hope for a bright future with Mr. or Mrs. Right.

From 2012-2016, Caulfield sporadically played the role of the Blind Witch on the popular television, Once Upon a Time. The Blind Witch was based on the witch in the Grimm fairy tale, Hansel & Gretel. She eventually met her demise after being locked up inside a giant oven and burned alive by Regina Mills/The Evil Queen. In 2016, Caulfield had a role on Supergirl as Cameron Chase, an FBI agent. Caulfield also appeared on one episode of Fear the Walking Dead in season 3, episode 3,”TEOTWAWKI” in 2017 as Tracy Otto.

Also in 2016, Caulfield played Nurse Misty Windham in the animated webseries, Fantasy Hospital. As of 2020, Caulfield has one project in post-production, a movie called I’m Charlie Walker, which is based on a book about a true story of a man who took on race-based workplace discrimination in San Francisco during the 1970s. I’m Charlie Walker stars Mike Colter, of Luke Cage fame, as the titular role. While Caulfield has come a long way since her days on Buffy the Vampire Slayer, the actress has yet to land any major roles that are an equivalent to her tenure as Anya. Perhaps future endeavors will give her more opportunity to grace fans with her talent on either the big or small screen.
