What Genshin Impact’s Most Popular Weapons To Forge Are

There are countless weapons in Genshin Impact, the hit free-to-play RPG from developer miHoYo. Most weapons are either obtained through treasure chests found in dungeons and the overworld, or through gacha pulls in Genshin Impact‘s Wish system. However, some weapons can be forged by a blacksmith, assuming players have first acquired the right materials for crafting. With so many weapons to choose from, though, which ones are the most popular to forge? Thanks to miHoYo, fans now know the answer.

Now that Version 1.2 has been introduced into the game, players have even more weapons to choose from. Most of these new weapons come from the new Dragonspine region, while the Festering Desire sword is important for Version 1.2’s story. Weapons, much like the playable characters in Genshin Impact, are rated on a 5-star system. Typically, this means the higher the star rating, the rarer the weapon.

A lot of the best weapons in Genshin Impact are only available through the Wish system, which means players will need luck and plenty of Primogems. However, there are still plenty of great weapons that can be acquired without using Genshin Impact’s Wishes. Typically, treasure chests only have common weapons, but better ones can be crafted by a blacksmith. Players can collect the necessary materials and take them to Wagner in Mondstadt or Master Zhang in Liyue in order to get the desired weapon forged.

Genshin Impact’s Most Popular Forged Weapons (So Far)

According to miHoYo, the three most popular weapons to forge in Genshin Impact are Prototype Archaic, Crescent Pike, and Prototype Amber. All of this is according to the third issue of the Tevyat Times, a “newspaper” shared online my miHoYo. Taking third place is Prototype Amber, a 4-star catalyst used by casters. Crescent Pike is a 4-star polearm that provides good DMG bonuses for any characters that can use those kinds of weapons, such as Xiangling and Zhongli.

However, the most forged weapon in Genshin Impact is Prototype Archaic, a 4-star claymore that’s one of the best weapons in the game. Because claymore wielders are typically used for DPS roles, the Prototype Archaic is a greatly desired weapon. Popular Genshin characters like Xinyan, Diluc, Beidou, and Noelle all use claymores, which might explain why so many people are forging Prototype Archaic at a blacksmith.
