It is 2020, and Antonio Brown is facing legal troubles following felony charges and sexual harassment allegations from not one, but two separate women. Once regarded as one of the best players of this generation, we are three weeks into the NFL season and he is suspended and still not signed by any team. Recent news stories on Brown cast into light several accusations and charge that question the player’s integrity. His previous trainer accused him of sexually harassing her on multiple occasions. Another woman has come forward with similar charges against him. According to NBC, Brown and his legal team are denying the charges but in a surprising turn of events, on September 30 his lawyer made the statement that he will no longer be representing Brown. As for the verdict, reportedly the court date is set for December. Most recently, cryptic tweets shared on his personal Twitter acc0unt allude to a soon-approaching end to his football career.

Brown opened up to cameras during his DWTS cameo. He spoke of a childhood that was tumultuous due to his parents’ divorce. Brown’s football career kicked off when he was playing college football at Central Michigan, but not until the sixth draft. In his words, he went from, “top dog to underdog.” He was drafted and played wide receiver and punt returner for the Pittsburgh Steelers and was named the team’s MVP in 2011, 2013, and 2015.

On 2013, he made history as the only receiver to record five receptions and at least 50 yards in every single game of an NFL season. His many other honors include the Fantasy Player of the Year for 2015-2016. In 2018, Brown requested to transfer due to internal disputes and was drafted by the Oakland Raiders in a deal that made him the highest-paid receiver in the league. His transfer was short-lived and he was soon dropped. Shortly after, he signed with the New England Patriots but was suspended after one game due to the NFL’s investigations of his sexual harassment charges.

Antonio Brown and his dancing partner Sharna Burgess were going steady until the semifinals where they faced eliminations. He and his partner placed fourth and fifth. He is the second Pittsburgh Steelers player to dance on DWTS. Hines Ward, his former teammate, danced and won season 12. It is 2020, Antonio’s NFL career is in question, and women are still being exploited in arenas all over the world.
