What Happened To Boba Fett’s Armor After The Sarlacc

Boba Fett has his armor back in The Book of Boba Fett, but what happened to it after he escaped from the Sarlacc Pit? The iconic armor from the Star Wars franchise is at the forefront of the newest Disney+ show. Thanks to the multiple settings of The Book of Boba Fett, this included showing how the bounty hunter escaped the Sarlacc Pit, which led him to lose his recognizable costume. The series doesn’t show how he got it back, but the history of Boba Fett’s armor has been explored elsewhere.

What The Book of Boba Fett does show about his armor’s story comes directly after he escaped the Sarlacc Pit. The weakened and tired Boba Fett laid on the Tatooine sands when Jawas arrived to explore the wreckage of Jabba the Hutt’s sail barge. The scavengers saw the exhausted bounty hunter and began taking Boba Fett’s armor off him, which he was too weak to prevent. This leads to the Jawas coming into possession of the armor and holding it in one of their sandcrawlers. However, they don’t hold onto Boba Fett’s armor for long as they trade it to another wandering fighter in exchange for rare crystals.

As explored in the book Star Wars: Aftermath and The Mandalorian season 2, the next owner of Boba Fett’s armor is Cobb Vanth. Timothy Olyphant’s gunslinger character opted to take the suit from the Jawas with the hope of using it for good. Vanth began wearing the Mandalorian suit and became the mayor and sheriff of Mos Pelgo/Freetown. He then used Boba Fett’s old armor to bring law to this town for roughly five years. It is only after battling the Red Key Raiders and the Mining Collective that Vanth was visited by a real Mandalorian who wanted the armor.

The Mandalorian season 2 saw Cobb Vanth give Din Djarin Boba Fett’s armor after he helped defeat the krayt dragon that terrorized Freetown. It was through this adventure that Boba Fett re-emerged to reclaim his armor, leading him to track down Din. After originally viewing each other as enemies, Din and Boba worked together. Din gave the armor back to Boba Fett after he helped him with Grogu. This allowed the bounty hunter the opportunity to repaint his armor and repair some of the damage done to it from his time in the Sarlacc Pit.

There is a chance that The Book of Boba Fett will reveal even more about what happened to the armor in the past. Audiences have wondered why Boba Fett didn’t immediately reclaim his armor from Cobb Vanth. The new show could detail his journey up to where it began in The Mandalorian season 2. This could be one way for The Book of Boba Fett to flesh out different parts of his past, while an appearance by Cobb Vanth could even highlight more of his adventures with the armor.
