What If…? episode 2 explores what would have happened if T’Challa had taken Peter Quill’s place as Star-Lord with the Ravagers, but not all the original actors lent their voice to their respective characters, as is the case with Chris Pratt – so who voiced Peter Quill in What If…? episode 2? The Marvel Cinematic Universe continues its expansion now that the Infinity Saga is over, and what makes Phase 4 more exciting is that it’s covering both TV shows and movies, further connecting different stories. On the TV side, Marvel is taking a break from live-action shows with What If…?, an animated anthology series with an interesting premise.

SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY

What If…? explores what would have happened in the MCU if some of the biggest, key moments in this universe happened slightly differently. Each episode covers a different scenario, and as explained in the opening sequence by The Watcher, all these stories are part of the multiverse, as each time the timeline breaks, it makes way for alternate universes. What If…? episode 1 showed what would have happened if Peggy Carter (voiced by Hayley Atwell) had taken the Super Soldier Serum instead of Steve Rogers (Josh Keaton), and episode 2 is all about T’Challa (Chadwick Boseman) taking Peter Quill’s place as Star-Lord.

What makes What If…? so exciting is not just the idea of exploring different timelines in the MCU where the most important events happened differently due to one seemingly small mistake or a different decision, but also having most of the MCU’s actors reprising their roles in this animated show. However, not all of them returned to voice their characters, as is the case of Peter Quill, who isn’t played by Chris Pratt this time. Instead, Peter Quill was voiced by Brian T. Delaney in What If…? episode 2, and he’s a very well-known name in the world of video games.

Brian T. Delaney has voiced a number of characters in various videogames and has also lent his voice to a couple of characters in animated movies, but he’s best known for his work in the realm of video games. Among Delaney’s most notable voice work in video games are Roland in Halo 4 and Halo 5: Guardians, Master Mantis in Kung Fu Panda, Ralph in Wreck-It Ralph, Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed, and Disney Infinity, and Jonesy in Fortnite. Delaney has also appeared in a couple of movies and TV shows, mostly in minor or cameo roles, like How I Met Your Mother, Crossing Jordan, All My Children, and The Young and the Restless. As for voice work in film and TV, Delaney lent his voice to different characters in projects like Total Recall, Despicable Me 3, Uglydolls, and the TV movie Batman Unlimited: Monster Mayhem, where he played Scarecrow.

Of course, Delaney has a couple of projects lined up for the near future, as are Injustice and Injustice: Gods Among Us! The Movie, where he will voice Green Lantern. As for his work as Peter Quill in What If…?, episode 2 is the only one listed in his filmography, but given the multiverse nature of the series, it can’t be ruled out just yet that Peter Quill will show up again in another episode.
