Caution: Minor spoilers ahead for The Book of Boba Fett episode 5.

The Mandalorian, a.k.a. Din Djarin, removes all of his weapons in an episode of The Book of Boba Fett, showcasing his vast arsenal as a bounty hunter. As both a bounty hunter and a Mandalorian warrior with a culture that values weaponry, it’s no surprise that Din Djarin uses a multitude of weapons in both The Mandalorian and The Book of Boba Fett. Each weapon serves a different role in Djarin’s bounty-hunting career.

Din Djarin wears a suit of Mandalorian beskar armor. The precious metal from Mandalore is resistant to most blasters and is one of the few materials that are impervious to lightsaber blades. This indicates that the metal has some connection to the Force, as the Jedi and Sith weapons are powered by Kyber crystals, which are connected to the Force or its dark side. Djarin also uses a jetpack, a common tool among both Mandalorians and bounty hunters, for transportation and an edge in combat.

SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY

In The Book of Boba Fett “Chapter 5: Return of the Mandalorian,” Din Djarin boards a commercial flight for Tatooine, removing all of his weapons to check them as luggage. While not all of Djarin’s weaponry is shown in the scene, nearly his whole arsenal is secured before the flight. Djarin’s beskar spear had been melted down by The Armorer earlier and his Amban Phase-Pulse Blaster, a long-range disruptor weapon, was absent from the episode, having been destroyed with his ship, the Razor Crest (though its ammunition was removed and checked).

Blaster Pistols

Din Djarin’s primary weapon is an IB-94 blaster pistol. Unsurprisingly, Djarin’s weapon is more than capable of penetrating most body armors, as he’s shown dispatching Imperial Stormtroopers throughout The Mandalorian. Although his blaster pistol has more than enough range, firepower, and ammunition, Djarin also checks a small hold-out blaster, which is likely a hidden emergency backup weapon if his IB-94 is confiscated or damaged.

Whistling Birds

Carried in his left Mandalorian vambrace, Djarin carries the deadly whistling bird weapons. Whistling Birds are small guided projectiles made of beskar, making them extremely deadly against groups of assailants. Given the rarity of beskar, The Armorer advised Din Djarin to use Whistling Birds sparingly.

Flamethrower

Another vambrace-based weapon of Din Djarin’s is his flamethrower. Djarin favors the weapon in close-quarters, as demonstrated against a Stormtrooper on Nevarro. Djarin also used his flamethrower to non-lethally end an argument between Cobb Vanth and a Tusken Raider.

Vibroblade

Din Djarin also uses a vibroblade in close-quarters combat. Comparable to a military-grade combat knife, a vibroblade vibrates with enough intensity to significantly increase its cutting power. Djarin’s vibroblade is strong enough to cut through Stormtrooper armor or the hide of a creature like a mudhorn.

Fibercord Whip

Also known as a capture cable, Din Djarin’s fibercord whip is a useful tool that fires from his vambrace. Typically used for capturing bounties alive by ensnaring them, Djarin also used his in the pilot episode of The Mandalorian to pull an assailant into an automatic door, bisecting him. The weapon often proves ineffective against Jedi, as Djarin and Boba Fett both learned the hard way while fighting Ahsoka Tano and Luke Skywalker, respectively.

Darksaber

Din Djarin is the latest wielder of the Darksaber, a legendary black-bladed lightsaber constructed by Tarre Vizsla, the galaxy’s only Mandalorian Jedi Knight. The weapon is a status symbol, representing the right to rule all Mandalorian clans as the Mand’alor. Din Djarin used the Mandalorian weapon with difficulty in The Book of Boba Fett, but he’ll presumably master it over time and grow into the role of Mand’alor.
