Bethesda‘s E3 conference is always one of the more highly anticipated showcases at the annual (except for 2020) event. Just the prospect of a glimpse at the next Elder Scrolls or Fallout title is enough to get fans excited. Fallout 4‘s reveal at E3 in 2015, with the announcement that it would be released only five months later, was a highlight of that year. With Bethesda being one of the more prolific publishers in the industry, attached to titles like DoomWolfensteinDishonored, and more, there is always the potential for a surprise when Todd Howard takes the stage.

At E3 2021, Bethesda’s showcase will take place at 1:00 PM Eastern on Sunday, June 13. Bethesda’s presentation will be a part of Microsoft’s Xbox conference after Microsoft’s buyout of Bethesda parent company, Zenimax, earlier this year. As far as E3 presentations go, the Zenimax acquisition is quite exciting. There’s the potential for many other big franchises to join Bethesda’s announcements, including HaloGears of War, and Forza.

The Xbox website shows that the joint showcase will be streamed live on the Xbox Twitch, YouTube, Twitter, and Facebook pages, though there will be plenty of other destinations to catch all of the presentations. There have already been rumors circulating about Xbox having a Valve-related announcement at E3, and the studio will no doubt want to generate some excitement following the buyout by having many reveals from Bethesda.

What Might Be Shown At Bethesda’s E3 2021 Conference

The big two franchises fans always look out for from Bethesda at E3 are The Elder Scrolls and Fallout, but this year, the biggest reveal will probably be something from Starfield. Bethesda is taking its signature RPG formula to space, and although Starfield is rumored to release in 2022, there has been very little shown of the new title. The Elder Scrolls VI was confirmed to exist three years ago at E3 2018, and it’s not out of the question that more info might be shared regarding it, but it’s likely still a ways off, so fans shouldn’t expect too much.

Fallout is largely in the same boat as The Elder Scrolls this year. Fallout 76 may get some news at E3, but a Fallout 5 reveal is doubtful. Many are hopeful that the Microsoft acquisition will lead to more spin-offs a la Fallout New Vegas, but there has so far been no confirmation, and if that is Microsoft’s plan, it’s likely too early for any plans to have made significant progress. E3 presentations from Bethesda are always a marquee event, and this year will be even more so now that it’s combined with the Xbox showcase.
