With the revival series Dexter: New Blood premiering tonight, here’s when the premiere airs and where to watch it. The titular serial killer is set to return to screens eight years after Dexter‘s divisive series finale, in which Dexter flees Miami amidst intense police scrutiny and abandons his son Harrison. The frosty critical reception for Dexter‘s out-of-character ending has prompted another dive into the affable antihero’s psyche, with original Dexter showrunner Clyde Phillips helming the character’s return in Dexter: New Blood.

Set a decade after the climactic events in Miami, Dexter: New Blood‘s timeline will center on the life Dexter has built for himself in the small town of Iron Lake, New York, as he hides his identity under the assumed name Jim Lindsay. Although Dexter has seemingly suppressed his serial killing urges, a string of macabre incidents around his new town will cause the “Dark Passenger” within him to reveal itself once again as predictably bloody mayhem ensues. Matters are further complicated by Dexter’s relationship with the town Chief of Police, Angela, from who he continues to hide his true nature amidst the awakening of his long-dormant murderous behaviors.

Dexter: New Blood is designed as a standalone series set to right the many wrongs the original series finale “Remember the Monsters?” delivered. New Blood is set to bring a slew of new characters into the fold, as well as familiar faces in the form of Dexter’s long-dead sister-turned Dark Passenger Deb (Jennifer Carpenter) and an eerie cameo from his deadly nemesis, the Trinity Killer (John Lithgow). Here’s what time Dexter: New Blood airs and where to watch it.

What Time Dexter: New Blood Airs

Dexter: New Blood is set to begin airing on Showtime on Sunday, November 7th at 9 pm ET/PT. New Blood‘s first season will include 10 episodes, with new installments airing every Sunday night on Showtime.  The first eight of these episodes’ names have also been unveiled, with the Dexter: New Blood premiere titled “Cold Snap” in an allusion to the frigid temperatures in the fictional town of Iron Lake, NY.

Where To Watch Dexter: New Blood

There are several ways to watch Dexter’s highly anticipated return to action this Sunday. In addition to being aired on Showtime Sunday, November 7th, Dexter: New Blood will also be available to stream via the Showtime app with a subscription. The Showtime app is now available on most major mobile and smart TV platforms and is a premium access channel on services such as Amazon Prime Video, Hulu, FuboTV, DIRECTV, Apple TV, Roku, Sling TV, and YouTube TV.

Showtime has also benevolently released Dexter: New Blood early across its streaming platforms, meaning Dexter Morgan’s highly anticipated return in “Cold Snap” is now available to watch. However, audiences wanting to view the series premiere live will still have to wait for Showtime’s 9 pm ET/PT airtime as scheduled. Excitingly, Dexter: New Blood looks set to recap and erase the series’ previously disappointing finale and bring back the compelling antihero that first captivated and charmed with his macabre monologues in 2006.
