Into The Dark premiered in October 2018; each feature-length episode in the anthology series showcased a terrifying tale that relates to a specific holiday. The release schedule is based on this theme, creating one of the most dedicated holiday-themed horror anthologies currently available for streaming. Hulu ordered Into the Dark season 1 and season 2 for 12 episodes each, but due to the COVID-19 pandemic, season 2 was cut short by two episodes, leaving fans wondering when the series could return. Blumhouse Television – a division of Blumhouse Productions – will help Into the Dark return sooner rather than later by picking up exactly where they left off.

While production for Into The Dark was placed on hiatus, Blumhouse started several new projects, including Welcome To The Blumhouse on Amazon Prime. It is also an anthology series, but doesn’t have a theme like their Hulu original series does. Welcome To The Blumhouse released four movies in total during the Halloween 2020 season that included Evil Eye, Black Box, Nocturne, and The Lie. The next set of horror flicks in Blumhouse’s Welcome to the Blumhouse anthology will arrive sometime in 2021, but Into The Dark is coming back first, which might also suggest Blumhouse is alternating release dates. Into The Dark Season 3 Release Date

As of this writing, Into The Dark season 3 does not have a concrete release date, but the series in general will return to finish season 2 on February 12, 2021. This movie will be their third Valentine’s Day themed episode under the title “Tentacles.” Based on their release schedule from season 1 and season 2, the next holiday could be International Women’s Day or Saint Patrick’s Day for March. Hulu renewed Into The Dark in August 2019, which likely means that fans may have to wait a little longer to hear the official announcement on its renewal status for season 3. If Into the Dark is renewed, season 3, episode 1 will surely release in October 2021 unless COVID-19 restrictions and other Blumhouse projects impact its production.

Into The Dark Season 3 Cast & Characters

As a horror anthology series, there is no set cast list, nor have there been any announcements for who may star in season 3. In regard to “Tentacles,” Dana Drori (Tara), Casey Deidrick (Sam), Evan Williams (Grant), and Kasey Elise (Esther) are set to star in it.
