AMC will be debuting season 2 of its show, NOS4A2, which is based off the book by horror writer Joe Hill, the son of Stephen King. Here’s everything we know about the show’s upcoming second season.

Season 1 of NOS2A2 covered the beginning of Joe Hill’s book, which was first published in 2013, and a success with horror fans. The show introduced audiences to the villainous Charlie Manx, a predator who feeds off the souls of children to keep himself young by taking them to Christmasland. Season 1 had ten episodes, which finished in July 2019 and ran exclusively on AMC, which is home to other horror television like The Walking Dead. Rotten Tomatoes reported a 70% approval rating for season 1, which is on par with some of the more popular horror television shows. NOS4A2 was also nominated for a Saturn Award for Best Horror Television Series, but didn’t win.

Led by American Horror Story alum Zachary Quinto as Charlie Manx and Ashleigh Cummings (The Goldfinch), the show is considered a reasonably faithful adaptation of one of Joe Hill’s more popular novels. Hill has also lent his talents to television recently, with other material, such as his comic series Locke & Key being picked up by Netflix, albeit with a different audience, as Locke & Key is skewed more towards teenagers and younger viewers. Showrunner Jamie O’Brien is also notable to horror audiences, as she has worked on Fear the Walking Dead.

NOS4A2 Season 2 Release Date Info

After being renewed by AMC in July 2019 at San Diego Comic Con, it was announced that season 2 of NOS4A2 is going to release on June 1, 2020. The series will air on the same network as before, AMC. However, season 2 will also simulcast on BBC America. The upcoming season 2 will contain ten episodes, which was the same amount as season 1.

NOS4A2 Season 2 Cast

Many of the cast members from season 1 will return for NOS4A2 season 2. These include Zachary Quinto as Charlie Manx, Ashleigh Cummings as Vic McQueen, Jahkara J. Smith as Maggie Leigh, Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Chris McQueen, Virginia Kull as Linda McQueen, Olafur Darri Olafsson as Bing Partridge, and Ashley Romans as Tabitha Hutter. NOS4A2 Season 2 Story Details

NOS4A2 season 2 will continue the ongoing conflict between Vic McQueen and Charlie Manx, as well as explore further his insidious realm called Christmasland. There are a few notable differences that continue the plot from where season 1 left off. Most notably, season 2 takes place eight years after the events of season 1. Also, there is a new, rising conflict between McQueen and Manx because Manx is interested in collecting the soul of her eight year old son, Wayne. Joe Hill explained that the first season of NOS4A2 covered the first part of his book, a little less than half, and then showrunner Jamie O’Brien determined that the book could be divided into two or three seasons that could continue the story further, if season 2 is successful with audiences.
