What We Do In The Shadows Star Has Very Specific Valentine’s Day Message

What We Do in the Shadows star Kayvan Novak, who plays Nandor ‘the Relentless’ in the series, has a very specific Valentine’s Day message this year. What We Do in the Shadows is a television spinoff of the 2014 mockumentary of the same name. The FX series follows century’s old vampires and their often mistreated familiar as they try live among humans in Staten Island. The first two seasons received rave reviews for how fresh and inventive the series continues to be, and in May of last year, What We Do in the Shadows was renewed for a season 3. Like other great sitcoms, Shadows has countless hilarious moments and one-liners that stars like Novak will happily remind fans about.

In the season 2 episode titled “Resurrection”, a Necromancer offers all the vampires a free license plate key chain after failing to bring Laszlo and Nadja’s new familiar back to life, and Nandor memorably takes a key chain with the name Steve before saying the line, “I got Steve. So if you’re watching Steve, waiting for you.” Thanks to Novak’s delivery and his Nandor accent, it’s one of the more popular lines/moments in the series. So Novak has decided to do a specific Valentine’s Day post on Instagram, sharing a screenshot of his character Nandor grinning while holding the Steve key chain, and in addition to adding love hearts to the key chain, it has the message: “HAPPY VALENTINE’S DAY STEVE.” Full post can be seen below:

Not only is this a wonderfully fun and playful post from Novak, which fans of the series will love, but what’s even better is in the post description, he writes: “#notyouguillermo.” Playing off the fun dynamic between Nandor and his familiar, Guillermo, whose feelings he often disregards. Of course, What We Do in the Shadows season 3, which has started filming, will likely kick off with the cliff-hanger ending of season 2, which saw Guillermo reveal his vampire-killing heritage after saving Nandor, Nadja, Laszlo, and Colin Robinson from a trap set up by the Vampire Council. However, until season 3 begins, Novak is keeping the Shadows fans entertained with his Valentine’s Day message.
