The end of Marvel’s Avengers left several plot points unanswered, while also raising a few new questions. Some of these questions will likely be answered and explained in future DLC, but for now there are some serious mysteries for fans to ponder. Like the films in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Marvel’s Avengers has a post-credits scene. At the very end, something is seen blasting into space. But what is it?

The ending of Marvel’s Avengers had Kamala Khan’s Ms. Marvel teaming up with the reassembled Avengers to take down M.O.D.O.K. During this time, M.O.D.O.K. reveals a Kree Sentry, which MCU fans should recognize. For those who haven’t seen the movies, Thor explains the Kree Sentry in the game as well. M.O.D.O.K. briefly pilots the Kree Sentry, but is ultimately defeated.

Like the films in the MCU, however, there’s a post-credits scene. At the very end of Marvel’s Avengers, something is shown being sent into space from the wreckage of the Kree Sentry. This is obviously setting up future DLC or even a sequel, but it still leaves fans with a huge question. What exactly did the Kree Sentry blast into space at the end of Marvel’s Avengers? There is one possibility that seems more likely than the rest.

What The Kree Sentry Sent Into Space In Marvel’s Avengers

From simply watching the ending of Marvel’s Avengers, it’s unclear what exactly the Kree Sentry sent into space. However, the object appears to be a beacon of some kind. This has led many people to suspect it’s a homing signal summoning the Kree to Earth. If this is true, it also possibly sets up Captain Marvel’s arrival in the game at a future date. This would explain why Captain Marvel is described as being off-planet at the beginning of Marvel’s Avengers. She may already be fighting the Kree elsewhere, so the beacon’s call for reinforcements to Earth would bring both the Kree and Captain Marvel back.

Carol Danvers, aka Captain Marvel, has been teased for the game already. Kamala Khan even sports a Captain Marvel t-shirt at the beginning of Marvel’s Avengers. If the Kree Sentry did send a beacon into space, and is in fact calling more Kree to Earth, then this post-credits scene sets up a huge amount of potential story for upcoming DLC. It means that the Avengers – and players – will most likely be fighting a Kree invasion in the near future.

For now, details on the upcoming DLC for Marvel’s Avengers has revealed two playable Hawkeyes and new story content called Operation Taking AIM. However, based on the post-credits ending to the game, it seems a Kree invasion and Captain Marvel’s return to Earth will be coming soon.
