Destiny 2‘s Crow (Uldren Sov) needs a new home now that Guardians released the former prince from the Spider’s grasp on the Tangled Shore. Uldren is one of Destiny‘s more developed characters and there’s a certain sense in the storyline that he’ll be around for the foreseeable future. But the question remains of what, exactly, Bungie’s plans for the former prince are going forward.

Certainly, Uldren Sov is a character with a long history in the franchise, even dating back to a pre-release cutscene of Destiny 1. First Mara Sov’s Awoken brother and right-hand man, then leader of an insurrection by the Scorn, and now an interactable NPC Guardian, Uldren is stepping into the limelight as a prominent figure. Once Season 13 hits, there’s a good chance the community will find out where the Crow will nest, but until then, Destiny 2 players can only guess.

The most likely scenario is that Crow will step into a role as Hunter Vanguard. Given that – before returning to life as a Guardian – Uldren was responsible for Cayde-6’s death, (a story beat that Bungie isn’t likely to gloss over) who better to fill those shoes than Uldren? However, it may not be for the reason many suspect. Many believe the specific reason Uldren will fill Cayde’s shoes is because of what’s known as the Hunter Vanguard Dare, but the details of everything involved with that are a little ambiguous at best.

Crow Will Likely Move To The Tower

It’s more likely because there is a void in the Vanguard leadership, and while not officially dubbed a “Hunter,” Uldren has the skills of a Destiny 2 Hunter that is surely in the upper-echelon of what makes a Hunter qualified to be named as such. It would also be quite the ironic story element to have Cayde-6’s killer step into the same role, creating a sense of tension that could last for several subsequent seasons. Given that Ikora Rey, the Warlock Vanguard, took Cayde’s death the hardest, it could give Bungie the opportunity to finally give her a more prominent role in the game aside from the static presence she’s held within the Tower for the past several seasons.

Crow taking up the mantle of Hunter Vanguard is the easiest guess, but he could return to the Dreaming City to face Petra Venj or go in search of Mara Sov as well. Everything depends on the direction Bungie takes the character for future seasons. With Bungie’s track record, determining this will be difficult until the actual reveal, since characters such as Saint-14 made a home in the Tower, but others, such as Osiris, were present as a vendor for a season and then gone afterward.

Perhaps the only story left for Crow is that there’s work to be done elsewhere and the community will hear nothing more as the Awoken Guardian rides off into the sunset. Or maybe the Tower Vanguard will hesitantly accept Crow as the new Hunter leader and give Destiny fans a continued story beat for seasons to come. Either way, it isn’t likely that Season of the Hunt will be Uldren Sov’s last appearance in Destiny 2.
