As trainers continue their survey work in Pokémon Legends: Arceus late game and post game, they’ll be able to find and catch powerful Alpha Pokémon like Alpha Gardevoir, which is one of the stronger Alphas available in the game. This Psychic-/Fairy-Type can unleash powerful special attacks, making it a formidable opponent that can wipe a team if players are unprepared. However, with the right strategy, players can capture Alpha Gardevoir and add it to their Pokémon team.

In addition to being larger than other Pokémon, Alpha Pokémon have glowing red eyes, and players can typically spot them from a distance as they adventure through Hisui. For example, suppose an Alpha Pokémon spots the player approaching them. In that case, they will chase the player down and attack them relentlessly, making stealth a key strategy when it comes to battling and catching Alphas like Alpha Gardevoir. However, Alpha Pokémon are stronger than regular Pokémon thanks to their high Effort Levels in Pokémon Legends: Arceus and they can learn moves through leveling that others can only learn from the Move Tutor. Catching and defeating Alpha Pokémon is also a great way to level up and strengthen the trainer’s team since they often drop EXP Candies and Grit Items in addition to the experience the player’s Pokémon will gain by battling.

SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY

Alpha Gardevoir can be found at level 70 in the Heart’s Crag area of the Alabaster Icelands, but it only appears during the day. Players can change the time of day in Pokémon Legends: Arceus by resting at a nearby camp or their living quarters in Jubilife Village. In order to reach this area, however, players will need the help of a ride Pokémon like Hisuian Braviary or Basculegion, but both of these mounts should be unlocked by the time players reach a high enough level to face Alpha Gardevoir.

How To Catch Alpha Gardevoir In Pokémon Legends: Arceus

To catch Alpha Gardevoir in Pokémon Legends: Arceus, players will have to use stealth to safely approach without being spotted and avoid being attacked. Fortunately, there are several trees and patches of tall grass that can conceal the trainer as they sneak closer to the Pokémon, and players can use crafted items like Stealth Spray and Smoke Bombs to increase their stealth and improve their chances of going unnoticed. It’s possible to catch Alpha Gardevoir without battling, and players can distract it with foods like Honey Cakes to sneak behind it and hit it with a move like Backstrike, which will improve their chances of a successful catch. Pokémon Legends: Arceus’ Ultra Balls and Gigaton Balls will be most effective, but players will have to get extremely close to Alpha Gardevoir to be within throwing range of the Gigaton Ball.

However, if Alpha Gardevoir spots the trainer, it will start attacking immediately, and players should be prepared with a good team of Pokémon before encountering it. Alpha Gardevoir is a Psychic/Fairy-Type, making it immune to Dragon-type moves and resistant to Fighting- and Psychic- moves. However, it’s weak to Poison-, Ghost-, and Steel-type moves. Alpha Gardevoir is a strong Special Attacker, so players can counter it with a Special Defender like Probopass or Dusknoir to withstand its attacks while they whittle its HP low enough to catch it. Status conditions like sleep or paralysis will also make Alpha Gardevoir easier to catch, so it’s a good idea to bring a Pokémon that knows moves like Hypnosis or Thunder Wave as well. Finally, if players accidentally cause Alpha Gardevoir to faint in battle, they can return to Jubilife Village to get it to respawn.
