When exploring the Hisui region in Pokémon Legends: Arceus, players will find themselves face-to-face with menacing Alpha Pokémon like the Alpha Mismagius that haunts the Coronet Highlands. Alpha Pokémon are much larger, stronger, and more aggressive than their non-Alpha counterparts, and they can usually be found at a much higher level than the other Pokémon in the area, making them difficult to catch. However, like all Pokémon in the wilds of Pokémon Legends: Arceus, Alpha Mismagius can be caught and added to the trainer’s team, allowing them to take advantage of its unique strengths and abilities in battle.

SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY

Alpha Pokémon can usually be found off the beaten path in Pokémon Legends: Arceus, but players will be able to tell when they’re nearby thanks to the intense music that picks up in the background. Players can also find Alpha Pokémon based on their size and glowing red eyes, which set them apart from other Pokémon of their species. While catching and battling Alphas is one of the most challenging aspects of Pokémon Legends: Arceus, these powerful Pokémon have higher Effort Levels and unique moves that can typically only be learned from the Move Tutor, making the risk well worth the reward.

While it’s possible to catch an Alpha Pokémon without battling in Pokémon Legends: Arceus, it’s extremely difficult, and players will have to come prepared with plenty of Ultra Balls when attempting to catch Alpha Mismagius either way. The recipe for Ultra Balls will unlock once players reach Sixth Star Rank, and it’s a good idea to wait until reaching this Rank before searching for Alpha Mismagius anyway since the Pokémon is level 61 and will require a powerful team to catch if players do have to battle. Leaden and Gigaton Poké Balls can also give players a decent chance of a catch, but they’ll have to manage to sneak extremely close to Alpha Mismagius without being spotted in order to throw these successfully.

How To Catch Alpha Mismagius In Pokémon Legends: Arceus

Alpha Mismagius can be found haunting the slope of the Stonetooth Rows area of the Coronet Highlands just south of the Summit Camp in Pokémon Legends: Arceus. However, players will only be able to encounter this Alpha Pokémon at night since it’s a Ghost-Type, so they can take a rest at the Summit Camp to wait for it to appear. There are plenty of patches of grass in the surrounding area, but players can also use crafted items like Smoke Bombs or Stealth Spray to sneak up on the Pokémon without being spotted. Alpha Mismagius can be lured and distracted with Plump Beans, and players can increase their chances of a successful catch by hitting it with an Ultra Ball while its back is turned. However, if it breaks loose and spots the player, it will attack, so Pokémon Legends: Arceus players should come prepared to battle.

If players manage to throw a Pokémon into battle before Alpha Mismagius spots them, they may catch it unawares and get an extra turn to fight before it can attack. Since Alpha Mismagius is purely Ghost-Type, it’s immune to Normal-Type and Fighting-Type moves and resistant to Bug and Poison-Type moves, but it’s weak to Ghost and Dark-Type moves. Pokémon are easier to catch when they have a status condition as well, so players will have a better chance of catching it by paralyzing it or putting it to sleep before throwing a Poké Ball. If players accidentally cause Mismagius to faint before catching it, they can get it to respawn by returning to Jubilife Village.
