Can the comedy special Don Rickles: One Night Only be found online, and is it available on Netflix, Hulu or Prime? The late, great Don Rickles’ comedy career began in the 1950s, and his acidic insult comedy earned him the nickname “Mr. Warmth.” His popularity as a stand-up comedian soon saw him becoming a frequent guest on talk shows like The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson. He also earned countless celebrity fans like Frank Sinatra and the Rat Pack.

In addition to his stand-up popularity, he soon started appearing in movies and TV shows. Some of the most notable movies include the ensemble World War II heist movie Kelly’s Heroes with Clint Eastwood and Telly Savalas, Roger Corman’s cult horror The Man With The X-Ray Eyes or Martin Scorsese’s Casino. He even had his own short-lived sitcom with 1972’s The Don Rickles Show. Of course, younger audiences might know him best as the voice of Mr. Potato Head in Pixar’s Toy Story series, with 2014 short Toy Story That Time Forgot being one of his final acting performances.

He was a beloved figure in the world of comedy, so its little surprise a tribute to Don Rickles would be an all-star affair. In 2014 Jerry Seinfeld hosted a special titled Don Rickles: One Night Only, which aired on Spike. The special was packed with guests lining up to pay deference to Rickles, including Scorsese and Robert De Niro, David Letterman, Tina Fey, Amy Poehler, Regis Philbin, Eddie Murphy and many, many more. Sadly, Don Rickles: One Night Only isn’t the easiest special to track down online.

Don Rickles: One Night Only isn’t currently available to rent or purchase from platforms like iTunes or Google Play, nor is it available to stream from services like Netflix, Hulu or Amazon Prime. Alternately, fans of the comedian may want to check out another all-star tribute to the comedian in the form of 2007 documentary, Mr. Warmth: The Don Rickles Project, which features celebrities such as Whoopi Goldberg, Robin Williams, Billy Crystal and many more tipping their hats to the comedy giant. This documentary is easily available to rent or purchase from Youtube, iTunes and Amazon.

Don Rickles: One Night Only was later re-aired in 2017 shortly after the comedian’s death at age 90. Even in the special himself, Rickles managed to outshine many of the other comedians – with his end monologue featuring a particularly cutting “I’m thrilled as I look around the room that I’m the biggest name here” – but it’s nice that before his passing he received a fitting tribute to a decades-long career.
