Subnautica: Below Zero is a survival adventure game with a slew of different objects to find within the freezing depths of the ocean water. Planet 4546B, the setting of Subnautica: Below Zero, contains evidence of mysterious happenings from the past. A research team disappeared on the planet and players are tasked with discovering what happened to them. Along the way, players will encounter various Architect Artifacts left behind by the architects.

Architect Artifacts is the term used in Subnautica: Below Zero to describe the pieces of architectural technology left abandoned throughout the frigid environment. Robin Ayou, the protagonist of the game, interacts with an architect whose mind was stored on a Planet 4546B datahub while his original body was destroyed. The architect’s name is Al-An, and he is the only Architect with a conscious mind in the datahub. Al-An eventually transfers into Robin Ayou’s mind and gives players signals to follow toward different Architect Artifacts.

Find Obelisks in Subnautica

Among the Architect Artifacts are two mystical Obelisks found in separate locations. These obelisks served an unknown purpose to the architects. The obelisk itself is a pointed structure in the middle of four smaller structures. The smaller structures emit green beams of light into the middle obelisk, transferring the energy upward. The first obelisk can be found in the Arctic Kelp Caves, while the second obelisk can be found in the Deep Twisty Bridges. Fortunately, these obelisks are not exceptionally difficult to find. Both obelisks can be found by starting at the Delta Station Beacon.

Deep Twisty Bridges Obelisk

To find the Deep Twisty Bridges Obelisk, face toward the northwest. Approximately 350 meters to the northwest of the Delta Station Beacon is the first visible twisty bridge. Players must position themselves to the right of the twisty bridge, near the rock wall, and descend straight down to the Alterra Tech Site. Once the tech site is reached, face south and head down until an oxygen plant is visible on a small rock bridge. Follow the crevice to the left, eventually finding a cave entrance around 330 meters depth. Go forward, following the right side of the path, to find the obelisk at the end of the cave.

Arctic Kelp Caves Obelisk

The second obelisk is in the Arctic Kelp Caves. Beginning at the Delta Station Beacon once again, face toward the west. After traveling in this direction for about 600 meters, players will find two large holes below them serving as entrances to the Arctic Kelp Caves. Heading down, players must turn around several times to head in the right direction. Think of the Kelp Caves as a circular staircase, requiring players to twist downward, counterclockwise, into the depths. The end of this pathway reveals the second obelisk in Subnautica: Below Zero.
