As new and exciting legendary animals grace the landscape of Red Dead Online players may come across the red streak coyote. Players are given the option to hunt down any legendary animal just like in its non-online counterpart. However, online players can fill out an entire field guide for the animal for special bonuses.

Field guides are the main part of the new game’s specialist role known as the Naturalist. The Naturalist is entirely based around hunting and studying animals. Clad in the pelts of their kills and well-equipped. To fill out an animal field guide, the player will have to track down an animal twice to get every piece for their guide. Players will need to study, photograph, sedate, and sample the first time around. The second time, the player can kill and skin the beast to finish off their compendium.

Hunt Down The Red Streak Coyote in Red Dead Online

This fast and ferocious little guy can spawn anywhere out in free roam but has certain places and times that he is more likely to be found. The red streak coyote prefers to be out during the daylight hours between eight in the morning and 10 at night. It also does not prefer any specific weather so it is much more likely to appear than some other legendary animals. However, the red streak coyote is jumpy, making him take off at the slightest sign of an approaching hunter.The best place to find this creature is in Hennigan’s Stead, Austin, as it was spotted near Pike’s Basin. Pike’s Basin is a vast rocky canyon between MacFarlane’s Ranch and Armadillo. The creature can be tracked down or baited with small rodents. As coyotes live in packs, the player should be careful to make sure they are tracking the right one. With the swiftness and agility of these creatures, the player may want to get comfortable with hunting from horseback.After collecting the sample, head back into town to sell it for $11.50. Return to the animal to kill and skin it to fill out the last of the field guide and retrieve special materials. The legendary coyote fang can be sold to Gus for $3.20, and the pelt for $15.00. If the player sells Gus the pelt, they will have the option to purchase the red streak coat and red streak hood.
