Learning where to find the Overwhelmer in The Ascent will make combat much easier for players. This weapon is amongst the strongest available in the game, doing 607 damage with the base version. It’s possible to make it even stronger once players learn how to upgrade weapons. Not only does it do a ton of damage against enemies, but it also has an Area of Effect ability that will do chip damage to enemies within it. Fortunately, players will be able to collect it during the earlier sections of the game.

Players will be able to obtain this weapon once they unlock access to the Edge. It’s a location that players will be able to fast travel to once they unlock it. Obtaining it early in the game depends on the player’s skill level and actual progression level of their character.

It’s not meant to be easy to collect in the beginning, but it is possible. Players can learn how to level up the fast way if they wish to grab the Overwhelmer early. Taxi over to the Edge and this will instantly warp the player to the closest location near the Overwelmer.

Collecting The Overwelmer in The Ascent

After taking the taxi to the Edge in The Ascent, players will need to head down and to the right. Head past the Clone sign and continue to head right until reaching a cart with a yellow ramp on the outside. Players will be able to go inside the truck and find the Overwelmer resting on the inside.

The thing that makes grabbing this weapon so difficult is the sheer number of enemies spawning in the area. These will be much higher-level than what the player is expecting during the Edge’s first visit. Players can either return to this location once they are stronger to deal with the enemies, or turn on the co-op mode feature. Players can take control of two characters at once and clear out the enemies without having to constantly respawn every time they die. Occasionally, players will come across a bug in The Ascent that will not spawn any enemies in the area. It’s incredibly rare, but not an impossible thing to occur, and it will make it much easier to go for the weapon. After grabbing the Overwelmer, make sure to save the progress. There are also 3 yellow chests in the area for players to grab containing loot and ammo.

As for the best build, players should increase their Critical Hit Rate, Weapon Handling, and Aiming with their skill points. Critical Hit Rate allows for a higher chance to receive a critical hit with every shot. Aiming will increase the weapon’s spread, making it much easier to land shots with it. Lastly, Weapon Handling will allow players to reload and swap weapons much faster. This will bring up the best of the Overwelmer’s abilities.
