Here’s where the spin-off series Gold Rush: White Water can be found online, and if it’s on platforms like Netflix, Hulu or Amazon Prime. The Gold Rush franchise began back in 2010 with Gold Rush: Alaska, which followed a gold mining team heading to Alaska to save themselves from financial ruin. The Discovery Channel series was something of an instant success, and there have been 12 seasons of the original Gold Rush to date. Smelling a potential franchise, it didn’t take long for Discovery to put spin-offs in the works either.

There have been eight Gold Rush spin-offs thus far, including Freddy Dodge’s Mine Rescue or Gold Rush: Dave Turin’s Lost Mine, where Turin searches for gold in “failed” mines; the latter has received four seasons by itself. The Discovery Channel’s own little reality show gold mine shows no signs of slowing down either, with the latest show – Hoffman Family Gold – debuting in 2022. The show has spawned some stars of its own, including the aforementioned Freddy Dodge and Fred Hurt (AKA “Dakota” Fred).

Hurt made his debut in the second season of the original Gold Rush, and was a recurring figure until the fourth season. It appears some kind of pay dispute arose between Hurt and the Discovery Channel during this period, as he departed the show and went on to work on the documentary Gold Blooded, which had no connection to Gold Rush. Hurt and his “Dakota” boys later returned to the Gold Rush franchise with spin-off White Water, which is available to watch online from several outlets – though it can’t currently be streamed from Netflix, Hulu or Prime.

Gold Rush: White Water itself debuted in 2018, and followed Fred, his son Dustin and their crew gold hunting once more in Alaska. White Water proved to be another major reality series success for Discovery, with the spin-off having run for five seasons as of 2022. It’s currently unknown if this winning streak will continue or if Gold Rush: White Waterwill be renewed for yet another series, but given how robust the franchise has become, the odds are healthy.
