The movie is a true kult klassic, and here’s where to watch Killer Klowns From Outer Space online and if it’s on Netflix, Hulu or Prime. The 1980s was a golden era for the creation of new horror icons, including Friday The 13th’s Jason Voorhees, the Predator or Hellraiser’s Pinhead. Arriving towards the end of the decade was one of the most unique monster movies – or maybe just one of the most unique movies – ever made in Killer Klowns From Outer Space.

Directed by the Chiodo Brothers as an homage to classic ’50s b-movies like The Blob and other monster movies, Killer Klowns From Outer Space sees a group of alien clowns arrive in a small town intending to eat the population. As the demonic clowns spread havoc with their endlessly inventive weapons (such as acid pies or a popcorn gun), it’s up to a small group of teens and a cop to stop them. The Chiodo Brothers are famous for their work on the effects for movies like Critters and 2004’s Team America: World Police, and with their extensive experience, they managed to take a small budget and craft a really fun b-movie.

SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY

Killer Klown From Outer Space might be very goofy, but it’s that way be design. It’s colorful and charming, which doesn’t distract from the fact it has a ridiculously high bodycount. The klowns kill dozens of people onscreen, and in the finale, it’s clear they’ve likely murdered hundreds and cocooned their bodies to snack on later in their alien ship. Killer Klowns From Outer Space has become a cult favorite since its 1988 release, and while it’s not currently streaming on Netflix, Hulu or Prime, it’s an easy movie to find online.

Killer Klown From Outer Space is available on DirecTV and Max Go, according to JustWatch. Outside of those platforms, it can be rented or purchased at prices starting at $3.99 from iTunes, YouTube, Vudu, Amazon, Google Play and others. Despite the enduring popularity of the film and the likes of IT 2017’s Pennywise proving there’s lots of horror to be mined from evil clowns, Killer Klowns From Outer Space has yet to receive any kind of follow-up.

That’s not for lack of trying, as the Chiodo Brothers have been trying to mount a continuation for decades. At various points, a sequel dubbed Return of the Killer Klowns from Outer Space in 3D and TV shows have been announced, only for nothing to happen. Fox was once in line to develop a sequel too, but that was canned after the Disney acquisition. It would be hard to top the cult appeal of Killer Klowns From Outer Spaceafter so many years, but it’s doubtful fans will give up the hope they will return someday.
